We're National Trust members, so ensured we visited the museum which is very informative, but due to its small size lacks a cafe. Do be aware that it currently closes on a Saturday.

Friendly local museum with some interesting stuff. The houses history with all the additions and changes is fascinating. You can envision how the house changes over several hundred years. Obviously a work of love by the curators. Shows that folks then weren’t all that different than us. Be sure and check out the book shelves for some very interesting finds. The garden with its varied brick and masonry work and scullery with the indoor plumbing were particularly interesting. Well worth the couple of hours spent. The attendant was, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

This is a beautiful house and I enjoyed looking at the rooms a lot but there isn't much information given. I feel that it needs updating to maximise its worth e.g maybe by providing audio guides, tour guides giving info on each room and also info in other languages.

This is the ELIZABETHAN House, and some of it still shows life then, but it seems to focus predominantly on Victorian times - very confusing. Also an extensive collection of computer games, TV ads, etc, from the 70s and 80s which is really interesting (if a little depressing to see ‘your’ games in a museum!) but again, doesn’t have anything to do with the Elizabethan era. Not up to the National Trust’s usual standards - but a good way to spend a wet hour or two.

We have been National trust members for years and visited a number of properties up and down the country, this is probably the worst laid out one we have come across
The property is quite small so you do not need a long time for a visit, however there is so little information in each room that you find yourself moving through the house quicker than you would have wanted
When you arrive the first room had a video playing no seats were provided to watch the video, there was enough spare space in the room to add a bench or two. The video explains items in the whole house rather than the room you are in, when you eventually get to the items you would have forgotten what the video said about them and there was no reminder information in the room.
The rooms did have some information, fairly limited, the story of the house and it's residents did not seem to flow during the visit
Staff were friendly and helpful enough, however the layout for a visitor needs a re-think
If you are in the area it's worth a visit, however not enough to make a special trip to get there

We had cycled into Yarmouth and they kindly let us store our bikes under the stairs( well beyond what was expected). Interesting collection and history of the house. It’s small so doesn’t take more than an hour but there was plenty to look at

We went here, hoping to spend a few hours. There was a video playing, talking about the house. That was ok. The exhibits in the kitchen were quite interesting, but the rest of the place wasn't. We were in and out in about 30 minutes.

I normally like this kind of place, but this really wasn't particularly entertaining at all. An information video played in one room, which was a bit more interesting than the actual place. Not a great deal to look at, an in fact, nowhere near as good as the museums in my home town. Disappointing. We were in and out in about 20-30 minutes. Give it a miss.

Six middle aged friends visited this gem of a National Trust site, and although it is definitely one of the smaller National Trust properties it is still full of treasures. We spent an hour here and it was so worth it. It was a real great start to our day trip to Great Yarmouth.

Worth spending an hour here if you are a National Trust member. Ignore the booking site - we visited on a Thursday and despite no tickets being available there was no problem getting entry. Each room has been staged as it would have been at some point in the building's history. Lots of written info as you walk round and a video introduction in the first room.
