Daniella Hunt's Forum tour was exceptional. She was very responsive prior to the tour, and let us know everything to expect. Because she mentioned that she wrote a book on the Forum, we bought it from Amazon and read it before the tour -- highly recommended! Daniella accommodated our preferences, our touring style, our need to sit down, and most important she gave us the multilayered story behind each and every ruin. While a private tour for two people felt extravagant beforehand, in retrospect I would do it the same way again. We will def return to Rome and use Daniella for our future visits.

My husband and I toured for a full day with Daniella in April. We toured the Palatine Hill, the Forum and Saint Clement’s Church. Honestly, it felt more like spending the day with a friend instead of a tour. Daniella is energetic, personable and a superb storyteller. She worked with me via email creating the perfect plan for the day. She was very patient with all my questions, answering them quickly. Daniella took us to a small restaurant for lunch and gave us an overview of the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica. She provided great information we were glad we had for our tour the next day. I found Daniella based on a recommendation of a friend…. Daniella and the tour are easily one of the highlights of our time in Rome. If you are looking for a tour in Rome, book one or more of Daniella’s tours. The day we had with Daniella was worth every penny.

Thank you, Laura, for your glowing review! And thank you doubly, because it allows me to springboard into a related topic. Namely, Rome newbies and return "Rome-ers" can find my book "The Roman Forum: From Outpost to Empire in Ten Easy Centuries" on Amazon as a kindle, a black and white paperback, and in color. It will help them prepare for and/or savor their visit there with (or without) me.
This easy-to-read book that covers over a millennium of history through the lens of the Roman Forum came out at the beginning of 2022. If you're waiting for a guidebook to the Colosseum or some of Rome's other sights, you'll have to wait a couple of more years! And, in the meantime, buon viaggio and happy travels to everyone!

I recently went on a tour of Vicus Caprarius with Daniella Hunt. She is an outstanding guide who has the ability to put things in context and create a visual image in your mind of what that place looked like and its purpose. As a history geek, I've got a pretty decent working knowledge of Rome, but she was constantly telling me things that were completely new to me. She's so excited to share her extensive knowledge of the site that it's just really fun to be with her. She even added a couple of nearby sites that probably few people know about that were just mind-blowing. So, there are places in Rome that you want to know more than just a cursory knowledge of, you really need to check out Daniella at Mirabilia Urbis Tours. You will not regret it!

We (family of 4, kids ages 15 and 12) toured the Forum and a bit of Palantine Hill with Danielle earlier this month. Having her explain the sites, show us how to "read" the ruins, and tell stories about ancient Rome made all of the difference. We are SO glad we found Daniella, we got so much more out of the experience. She is energetic and full of great stories, and did a terrific job of engaging our kids - they enjoyed it just as much as we did. If you are thinking of hiring a guide, put Daniella at the top of your list!

Just outstanding! Daniella’s real talent is matching style to her audience - big or small. There is nothing she doesn’t either know, or have an energetic, valid and intelligent theory on for how things were during the Roman empire key periods. If you are contemplating a Coliseum tour you MUST have her on board!

Daniella Hunt is unlike any other guide whom I have ever encountered. She begins the tour by gauging her audience’s knowledgeability about the subject in question, and then she creates a perfectly balanced lecture and tour based around her audience’s understanding. To go on a tour with Daniella is, in the course of one afternoon, to be privately tutored by a great teacher for an entire semester.
You have not seen Rome until you have seen it with Daniella Hunt!

Daniella is the best guide you'd want to have. She begins by actually asking you what you'd like from the tour. In other words, she doesn't immediately assume complete ignorance on your part, unlike the majority of private guides (who then proceed to hear themselves speak for the most part).
Daniella has an archaeological knowledge of the sites. She can literally "read" the ruins and she brings them to life with exceptional clarity.
She is equally knowledgeable about Renaissance and Baroque Rome.
Rome experience becomes very different with her at your side.
Highly recommended.

I am so so so glad that we decided to do a private tour with Daniella. She explained in detail the significance of each piece of art and each structure, the people and history behind it, and the history of the church at the time the structure and/or art were created. Her explanations transported us to a different time and made the experience at the Vatican something truly memorable. Not only is she knowledgeable, she is funny and sweet. We had a great time, honestly I was sad when it came to an end. It was worth every penny.

We had an amazing tour with Daniella of the Roman Forum, The Collusem and the Pantheon "Perfect for kids! She made 6 hours feel like 15 minutes" - from my 11 year old. Daniella was a wonderful teacher engaging us with questions and interesting stories. As my son said the 6 hours flew by. It was so great going to these amazing sites with a guide who is SO passionate about "her" Romans! I would highly recommend her to any families coming to Rome. She had the tour so perfectly planned out from rocks for us to sit on while she talked to us at the Roman Forum, to a snack shop with quick sandwiches and a bathroom, to expertly getting us cabs over to the Pantheon. A great day!
