Molti dei ritrovi studenteschi di Edimburgo sono raccolti attorno agli edifici universitari nel Southside, un quartiere che ospita una lunga serie di negozi di seconda mano e ristoranti che servono cibo etnico per poche sterline. Ad Agosto, la popolazione studentesca viene rimpiazzata da frotte di chiassosi turisti che vengono qui per il Fringe, il festival della commedia e delle arti, fiore all'occhiello di Edimburgo e famoso in tutto il mondo. Accanto al Southside vi sono due fantastici parchi: The Meadows è un'ampia distesa pianeggiante, amata dagli sportivi che qui praticano football, rugby, tennis, cricket, croquet e golf, spesso fianco a fianco. I bambini che scorrazzano nei suoi grandi parchi giochi aggiungono una nota gioiosa. Molto più grande e selvatico, Holyrood Park si estende verso est e offre una vera e propria escursione fino all'Arthur’s Seat, ma il quartiere è meglio noto come sede del Parlamento scozzese e del Palazzo Reale, visitati tutto l'anno da un flusso costante di turisti.

Fantastic folks lovely venue, great fun. Teach you step by step how to throw axes effectively and safely, and have great fun while doing it! Music helps, and felt very sage and comfortable the whole time. Highly recommend!

We had such a lovely time at Black Axe, James was so sound and made such an effort to teach us different throws and make sure everyone enjoyed themselves (even when some of us were proving unskilled) :P Will definitely be back!

Amazing fun! Jacob was a phenomenal host and really great at showing us how everything works. A lovely time and amazing way to spend time with some friends. Highly recommend!

Booked it as a fun birthday treat for a friend and didn’t know what to expect. The two hosts/instructors were lovely from arrival and throughout. They have a very well stocked bar of good non-alcoholic beers and are only too happy to advise you about them. The atmosphere is really relaxed and Tom and Hanna were excellent and knowledgeable. Would definitely try again!

A group of us went as part of a hen do and everyone had such a great time! The instructors made it so fun and easy and the hour flew by. Would highly recommend - for friends, family, with work, for a date - such a fun, entertaining and satisfying experience. Can't wait to come back!

As a group of 12 we were well catered for. Only 2 had experienced axe throwing before. The host was great, keeping everything light hearted explaining everything really well and offering individual tuition. Great fun highly recommend.

We had such a fantastic time at Black Axe Throwing! As someone coming off the alcohol it was so refreshing to see a bar fully stocked with alcohol free booze giving me more than plenty choice!
Hannah was hilarious with her dry humour, it was so clever and witty it really kept you gripped whilst she conducted her training. And we all had a ball of a time. Best to leave your humility at the door and have fun with it!
Will deffo be back!

We visited at 5pm on 05th August 2023. Instructor was excellent, explained everything really well and interacted with us throughout the session making the whole experience fun. Vibe in the venue is great and time passed too quickly! We will definitely be back. Brilliant selection of alcohol free beers too.
