Candlelight with a quartet playing Queen.

Brilliant venue for this concert with a fine quartet of talented musicians playing 14 Queen tracks. Fine evening. Keep an eye out for any musical concerts at this venue.

Beautiful church.

Located in the last remaining Georgian square in Birmingham namely St Paul's Square is one of the most beautiful churches in Birmingham namely St Paul's Church.
A beautiful Grade I listed building, constructed between 1777 - 1779 and built from designs by Roger Eykyns ,there were further alterations to the church especially to the spire taking place in 1822 & 1823 ,the church is famous for its stained glass windows and organ ,during world war two it suffered damage but was restored to its former glory between 1949 - 1951 ,its a wonderful church in the Jewellery Quarter and most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and easy to locate on St Paul's Square.

Bonita y antigua iglesia en el corazón del Jewellery Quarter

Bonita iglesia, aunque no conseguí entrar pues siempre la encontré cerrada al público. Fue diseñada por Roger Eykyns de Wolverhampton en 1777, en un terreno cedido por Charles Colmore de su propiedad de Newhall, y se encuentra en la única plaza georgiana que queda en Birmingham. Fue la iglesia de los primeros fabricantes y comerciantes de Birmingham, en el Jewelry Quarter. La parte superior de la torre se agregó en 1822.
El daño causado por las bombas de la IIGM se reparó entre 1949 y 1951 cuando se reemplazó gran parte del techo.
La ventana este tiene una importante vidriera esmaltada con la conversión de San Pablo.

Historic simple but pretty church

We have never been able to see the interior on previous visits to the Jewelry Quarter since it is only open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This time we were lucky and it is well worth it. Crisp and clean interior, a touch simple but a huge painted glass image in place of the normal stained glass windows you normally find in most churches. It is stunning! Plus of course the normal stained glass windows on the sides.
This is the church where James Watt, the famous inventor would attend, and where Mendelssohn would play on the same organ that is still there.

Lovely St Paul's in Birmingham

Had to visit St Paul's as this was where our Grandparents married and our Father and his siblings were all baptised before moving to Lancashire during the war. Lovely Church, was able to light a candle for my family. Wonderful Georgian box pews. Left a donation towards the upkeep. Lovely.

kleine schmucke Kirche

Die Kirche liegt im Jewellery Quarter. Sie wurde von Roger Eykyns entworfen und 1779 geweiht, obwohl die Türme erst 1823 fertiggestellt wurden. 1964 musste die kriegsgeschädigte Orgel ersetzt werden. Zu Beginn gab es einige der berühmtesten Männer Birminghams unter den Gemeindemitgliedern, darunter Matthew Boulton und James Watt, die ihre eigenen Bänke hatten.
Drumherum ist ein kleiner Park, mit Rasen, Rabatten, Bänken und einigen Grabsteinen. Ein ruhiger Ort in der hektischen Großstadt.

Lovely square

We didn't go into the great looking church at the heart of this cool square - there are nice grass areas with some planting mingling with the headstones and it's all very nice. Bars and restaurants are all around on the square and adjacent streets, creating a great atmosphere

ジュエリークォーターの近くにある教会です。白亜の教会で、尖塔が針のようで、華麗です。上と下の窓の形が微妙に違うのもお洒落です。この静かな環境にピッタリの教会でした。

Oasis of calm with soothing taped music

St. Paul's Church is a late eighteenth century grade I listed building standing at the centre of an impressive square itself at one of the highest points in Birmingham's Jewellery District. It was designed by one Roger Eykyns and consecrated in 1779 although the tower and spire were not completed until 1823 and the war-damaged organ replaced in 1964. In its early days it boasted some of Birmingham's most famous men amongst its parishioners including Matthew Boulton and James Watt who had their own dedicated pews. It is now surrounded by the industry of bars, clubs and restaurants. When I visited on a Thursday afternoon one gentleman was sitting in contemplation whilst some soothing taped music was being played. There appears to be a good programme of concerts here.
