THE best pub in Lichfield. James is a lovely chap, super knowledgeable and friendly. Always a great atmosphere and fab selection of casks and craft ales. Also dog friendly which is an absolute win!

The Whippet Inn is by far the best pub in Lichfield! Great atmosphere and beautiful decor inside. Fab choice of real ales and craft beers and a super friendly and knowledgeable chap behind the bar that served us. Not only that, it’s dog friendly! Loved it.

We spent part of a Sunday afternoon sampling the delights on offer. Fine selection of ales and I was allowed to try a sample of the rather tempting locally brewed Yoxall cider. A real gem of a place with pleasant, professional and knowledgable staff.

Lovely atmosphere & great beer!
Popped in for a quick beer with our 3 youngsters who were back from Uni for Christmas.
We all agreed that the beer was amazing and that the pub had a really welcoming atmosphere. We will be back 👍

upon entry , noticed not many there ?. after looking at ales /ciders avalable placed order.....only then told cash only - pointing to a small notice at END of bar. not a card person , my wife paid by her card reluctantly. sitting down annoyed at this , the same happened to another couple. this notice should be more prominent at the FRONT OF BAR or upon entry.
whist drinking noticed 2 dogs in pub , then another couple entered with another dog ?. now feeling out of comfort zone , looking at floor noticed how much dog hair on floor + mat in doorway. - when was this place last cleaned ????
neither wife / myself left unimpressed......not to returning.

lovely little pub with a great atmosphere,great selection of beers and looking fabulous after its refurbishment during lockdown,would definitely recommend

Me and the wife were in Lichfield for a show and stayed over. The whippet had been recommended and we were eager to have a drink in there. The beer is excellent and it was nice to have a couple of ciders to choose from. Really friendly barman and a nice atmosphere.

This place is a hidden gem,
The owner James is fantastic, brilliant guy, very customer focused. He is very Helpful and explains the new drinks he has to offer.
The beer is lovely, lots of choice and he has new beers often.
The atmosphere in the Whippet is very good, always something going on.

This is a hidden gem of a pub, it's a must if your walking around in Lichfield.

What a charming little Micropub. Doggy treats in a jar by the front door along with fresh water for your k-9 friends. Cold room behind glass for all to see which I loved, I'm not an ale drinker but my partner and son absolutely loved the jammy doughnut ale. I however had a pineapple rum and coke which was really nice and the glass was very high end looking. The young couple that run the pub were darlins. Will visit again next year when we're back in Lichfield.

Yes it's changed hands a lovely young fella by the name of James Bullivant is now running it been there since 22nd March 2018.
It's doing exactly the same as before.
