A great fixture with longevity on the city’s skyline, given that its origins extend back to the 1300s. Albeit with substantial design changes in the intervening centuries.
With Gothic elements the profile and facades are lovely to see. A fine lantern tower is a standout.
Inside is prayerful and tranquil. Along the nave robust columns and arches lead to the altar area. An iridescent backdrop of stained glass is striking.
An impressive organ with substantial pipes is a rousing accompaniment to the ceremonies.

This church was really nice. It looked really old. It was open for all to enter, no charge. The stained glass was quite nice. It has a lot of character.

All Saints Church is in the centre of York and next to the main shopping area.
Obviously not as grand as the Minster it is worth looking at.
It is a lovely old church with stunning architecture. If you like admiring old buildings it is worth checking out.

This is still a fully functional church but it is also an iconic building because of its history. Floodlit at night, the lantern tower is spectacular and it also serves as a reminder of the days when the light guided people into York across treacherous terrain.
It is the Guild Church of the City of York and the Regimental Church of the Royal Dragoon Guards and it is sited on what was one of the earliest parts of York to be paved (hence the name).
There is a wonderful 14th century stained glass window showing the Passion of Christ.

A very historic church, in the city centre. Standing on one of the earliest paved areas in York, A grade 1 listed parish church, dating from the 14th C.. although many improvements and alterations have been made over the years. It is the regimental church for the Royal Dragoon Guards. 34 Lord Mayors, are buried here.

Walking down Pavement in York you are immediately struck by this fine looking church called Parish Of All Saint's Church.
This is a well known church,parts of this church date from the 14th century ,there's actually been a religious site on this spot for many centuries ,under the guidance of architect George Edmund Street this church had the stonework renovated and cleaned ,the last major clean up of this church occurred in 1912, the church has remained unaltered since 1912 ,I love the look of the church especially at night when illuminated ,it's so photogenic ,it's a church I highly recommend you check out if your in the area and easy to locate along Pavement/ High Ousegate.

This is another lovely and central church in York, not too far from the famous Shambles.
The church was closed when we arrived, so we could only inspect it from outside.

York is justifiably famous for its amazing architecture, walk around most any street and there's always a building of interest, along Pavement is Parish Of All Saints Church ,Pavement, a wonderful looking church.
Parts of this church date from the 14th century and over the many centuries a religious site has stood on this spot the church has seen many alterations particularly under the guidance of George Edmund Street who had the stonework cleaned and improved, the last major renovation occurred in 1912 ,the finished church from 1912 is what we see today.
The most stunning aspect of this church is the beautiful lamp tower ,stunning to view during the day but at night amazing when illuminated, this church is easy to locate along Pavement/ High Ousegste just off The Shambles, most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a trip to York.

The tower being lit up that I had noticed last night led me to seek out this church for a visit. The tower is special but the inside of the church is not. It is an old historic building that is a quiet haven away from the bustle on the street outside. Still worth a visit but I could not get access to the tower.
