Absolutely blown away by the scale and beauty not only with the objects on display but the building itself is incredible every tiny corner is amazing. Visited the museum 3 times while in London during my trip to try and take it all in and that’s without even having time to see any of the exhibitions like Elton John or Naomi Campbell’s. Transport to the museum is plentiful and I never needed to book ahead of time I just turned up each time there’s a cloakroom available for a charge near the entrance handy on a hot day for ditching your jacket as the rooms do get very warm. Do take bottled water with you. There’s a lovely restaurant and cafe on site for refreshments. If you’re a member of other V&A sites you’ll get a discount at this site. The stained glass as the sun shone in I will never forget truly breathtaking as was the first time seeing the ceramics on floor 4 in the curved cabinet being in the room alone seeing that is just jaw dropping. So many things in this museum just took my breath away the Freddie Mercury vanity cases truly gorgeous the detail in them. Not to mention every single member of the V&A team that I spoke to so helpful and knowledgeable they really make the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Our trip to the V&A this time and in June 2024 was to see Sir Elton John and David Furnish's exhibition. Over 18 viewing is required in some areas. They have a great collection of photography spanning many era's that we were very delighted to view. I particular liked the Motown images and also thought the Frank Sinatra in Miami Beach image (with info to read) of very much interest, as well as the Che Guevara and black history photography. There is so much to see and read. If vising, take your time if you are able to as there are a number of fascinating stories to read about the photography and person be photographed. The exhibition is on at the V&A until January 05th 2025 and we would recommend. Hopefully the exhibition will go on tour to other countries for others to enjoy, before making there way back to their private home.

This is one of the top museums in London and it is free! Would highly recommend looking at the museum map ahead of time and figuring out which areas you would like to see as after a while it can become very overwhelming as there is a lot of objects to see. I always bring people to the Raphael Cartoon room, the Medieval and Renaissance rooms and the Europe History rooms.

Fantastic collection of items. I must say, the whole day is needed to get around the whole museum. We arrived at the opening of the doors and left just before closing having been to each section on the map. We only really spent time additional looking at a few noteworthy items and exhibitions, other than that we had a leisurely stroll around and stopped at lunch time for cake and tea. Lunch time was astonishingly busy in the cafe, we were lucky to grab a table, then I sent my partner to fetch the tea and cake. A few people with hot food on trays had clearly got their food before finding a table and were then walking around hoping to jump on a table as others left, tip, get a table first! The building is beautiful, use a map to find your way around as not all staircases go to all levels and some levels are split across the site meaning you need to come down stairs to go back to stairs to see the whole of certain levels. A brilliant day out with lots of fascinating items.

I visited the Taylor Swift songbook trail here in the summer it was a lovely exhibition. Dotted about the museum rather than in one place made it a nice experience to be able to see other things in the museum too. It’s also very accessible because it’s free which is handy. It was also great to have Eras Tour merchandise there as somebody who wasn’t able to go to the Eras Tour I could still get some merch! I enjoyed learning a lot about how Taylor writes her songs and seeing her costumes and other things from her career. Whilst it’s in London it’s a must-see for Swifties!

London has so many amazing and free museums it may seem hard to choose. The Victoria & Albert is a bit different in that it's centered around art and design. You won't find galleries of paintings here, although there are several. Instead, there historical objects from Britain's great houses: beautifully constructed furniture and musical instruments, tapestries, wallpaper, beds and bedding, intricate embroidery and needlepoint that Mary, Queen of Scots stitched while imprisoned and an instrument thought to have been played by Elizabeth I. There's a wonderful fashion collection, and if that's something you are interested in, you may enjoy the memoir Patchwork by fashion curator Claire Wilcox. There are ancient sculptures, a beautiful collection of Middle Eastern tile objects, a enormous Chihuly chandelier, and one of the big attractions, a set of seven cartoons, the name of full-sized tapestry designs, painted by Rafael. There's a cool collection of post-war design objects. The museum is free. They often have special exhibits that require reservations and admission. It's next door to the Museum of Natural History, which seemed to be much more crowded than the V&A was. Cross Cromwell to Exhibition Road to find a meal before or after your visit; there are several interesting restaurants for all tastes, including Comptoir Libanais, where we ate and that we loved. It's a beautiful building with a fabulous collection. You won't go wrong spending an hour or three here.

Rispetto ad altri Musei che ho visitato negli anni, devo dire che ha un bellissimo flow, come si direbbe per la musica. E’ facile da visitare, si capisce subito dove andare, non ci si annoia perché ogni sezione è diversa e intrattiene istruendo. La corte interna con la fontana, in estate, diventa un punto di grande aggregazione e cosa dire del Caffè interno? E’ una tra le tante ragioni per le quali si viene in questo Museo: per vivere ed essere immersi nella BELLEZZA… e mangiare ottime torte. Fate un salto al bookshop (sono in vendita orecchini molto belli). Spero di tornarci presto!

V&A is a huge museum with so many fantastic items, so before every visit here I go to V&A website to find out if I want to visit one of the permanent or temporary exhibitions. This time we chose to buy tickets and visit the the temporary exhibition "The Great Mughals: Art, Architecture and Opulence", and it was a great exhibition with lots of beautiful pieces of art and good information about the pieces. I found it very interesting, - especially after I have spent a few years in India. This exhibition was in fact the main reason why we came to London in March, - because on our next visit to London in July, the exhibition will have ended.

The Victoria and Albert Museum is one of the largest decorative arts and design museums in the world. Its collection is HUGE - some 2 million items. There are innumerable galleries, identified by geographical region or country (Japan, China, Islamic Middle East, South Asia) or by theme (design, clothing design, jewellery etc). You won't be able to see everything in a single visit. There are some exquisite items, such as the incredible Ardabil carpet, one of the oldest recorded carpets in the world (only illuminated for some minutes on the hour and half hour). Entrance is free, and there is a convenient underground access tunnel from South Kensington Tube station.

The V And A has a rather confusing layout, so it’s best to either buy a guidebook (£6] or a map (£1 donation) to help you navigate the exhibits. It’s a large museum, so you probably won’t have time to see it all and take it all in during one visit. Pick your areas of interest and concentrate on those. I enjoyed the vast Raphael cartoons, the paintings and the jewellery collections.
