A wonderful afternoon

My son and I had a 2 hour learn to fish taster session at Puddledock Farm Fishery in Upminster under the tuition of fishing teacher Reece. It was my son's first fishing experience and the first for me in 30+ years and so our levels of ability and knowledge were low at best! But Reece immediately put us at ease and showed us how to set up rods and lines to fish for carp. We started with pole/whip fishing but when I mentioned that I used to fish with a rod and reel set up he suggested we try that too even though it wasn't part of the planned lesson. Again he showed us in simple terms how to set up the kit and within seconds of having our line in the water we caught a decent sized mirror carp. Another followed quickly at which point my son took over on the rod and reel and I went on to the pole and he quickly pulled in 2 more of his own. 4 decent sized fish at our first attempt made for a very happy and fulfilling afternoon. Reece was a brilliant teacher – patient, encouraging and helpful – and even took time to take photographs of us with our catches. He shared a real love for fishing and after we left he shared lists of kit and techniques that might be useful for us and that wouldnt break the bank. We would both highly recommend a fishing lesson with Learn to Fish and Reece in particular. It was a genuinely great way to spend an afternoon

I wanted to learn how to Fly Fish and our instructor Nigel was great. Helpful and extremely capable, would recommend to anyone looking to learn or improve their skills!

An excellent experience. Reece our tutor was a really good teacher and very patient. My grandson snd I had an excellent time and…. We caught fish.

Great experience leaning how to fish

I had a really fun ssesion with Reece learning how to fish. He was very experienced and explained everything very clearly. I caught a few fish during our session which was the highlight of the day.

A great chance to catch big fish

Despite an awful weather (a big umbrella was saving us) we managed to catch several big carps and some smaller fish.
They provided all the required equipment, and our coach (Graham) was very polite and helpful.
This experience was my birthday present, and I can definitely recommend this activity!

Great first fishing experience

Had a great time, my 11yr son had his first fishing experience.
Instructor was great, very knowledgeable.

Amazing experience, well worth it!

The experience was amazing, me and my dad loved it, our instructor Reece was brilliant and explained everything really well and made it a great day. First time fishing and now we both can’t wait to get out and do it again. Would highly recommend!

A great experience carp fishing
lug 2023
My three children and I had a great session carp fishing. We caught four between us. Our instructor Reece was excellent, we learned a lot and feel like we could now fish without an instructor. Reece also took lots of great pictures and video. We really enjoyed it.

A great introduction to fishing for my son.
2 hour beginners session that just flew by. Reece was on hand the whole 2 hours to help with anything and answer any questions. Very encouraging too. Well worth it. Would recommend for complete novices
