Wonderful, small scale vineyard well worth visiting

This is an outstanding vineyard, nestled in the Kent countryside close to Ashford. It produces both sparking and still wines and all can more than hold their own against some its big estate neighbours. Both the Classic Brut and the Rosé Brut are winners, the former of a Gold medal by The Decanter magazine. The Rosé is darker than most owing to its 60% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay blend. The Field White and the Rosé stills are the new kids on the block, both highly drinkable and the former very distinct owing to its 60% Bacchus / 40% Chardonnay blend. Owned and managed on site by husband and wife team, this is a gorgeous lazy weekend outing. It has a fabulous terrace overlooking the vines, and offers charcuterie and/or cheese platters, Mediterranean platters and humous and mackerel pate. All superb. Highly recommended.

Excellent visit

We both had the flights, which were all exceptional.
We also had one cheese and one meat charcuterie and once again no complaints.
The service throughout was very good, with our questions about the vineyard and the wines being answered in a friendly and informative manner.
It was quite busy with a good atmosphere and fantastic views from the balcony.
A self guided tour of the vines concluded our visit, on the hottest day this summer.

Lovely afternoon

Excellent food and wine. Visited with the family for afternoon tea. Wine was lovely and the charcuterie, cheese and Mediterranean boards were very tasty. Scones for desert were the best I have had in a long time. Excellent visit all round.

Fabulous morning out

We are local to Woodchurch and have always wanted to visit our local vineyard. I wonder why we waited so long? Graham, one half of the operation, was funny, knowledgeable and friendly. He was open to all questions and clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the whole operation.
After the tour, we tasted four wines overlooking the glorious vineyard, once again Grahm imparting his knowledge and passion to his keenly engaged audience.
We didn't stay for food, but there is a pizza oven, and the food selection sounded wonderful.

The whole place was immaculately clean and very well organised. And such value for money at £20 a head.

We will most certainly be back to sample the food.

I spotted this place while out on a walk and managed to find a footpath which led to the road nearby. It’s really friendly place. I ended up stopping for a cheese platter, coffee and a tiny taste of the Pinot noir. I bought a bottle and am looking forward to cracking it open at some point. They had people on tasting tours who looked to be having s fab time and had a pizza oven on the go too (it was a Saturday). The vineyard itself is nice to walk around 15-20 minutes on the self guided walk and the leaflet they provided had some interesting info. The atmosphere was lovely, very welcoming.

A beautiful boutique vineyard!

I just love this place. Stunning location and amazing building with lovely balcony overlooking the vines. We had a stroll around the grounds before coming back for a flight of wine and shared a delicious cheese board. All ingredients were delicious and so fresh. They have also started doing fresh wood fired pizza on a Saturday outside. Would highly recommend this hidden gem!

Brilliant local independent vineyard

We visited this brilliant local independent vineyard for the jubilee afternoon tea which was delicious - a charcuterie or cheese board (we had both between 4 of us) plus a glass of the fantastic sparkling wine and some extra glasses of the divine rosé which we highly recommend. A great setting on the balcony overlooking the vineyard.
Graham a great host as ever and the wine is stunning. Highly recommend for a self guided tour, the daily food offerings or a browse in the brilliant shop. The award winning sparkling wine is a real treat and there is now the Rosé and a Pinot Noir available!

Stylish, great lunch and loved The Jubilee tea.

Platinum Jubilee Visit

A first visit to Woodchurch Vineyard for their Jubilee Sparkling Afternoon Tea. On arrival the venue is well designed and visitors parking available, albeit a few spaces, but worked well for us. The established vineyard is directly in front of the balcony and building, with recent vines planted by the driveway.

We were greeted by the owner who allowed us to choose a seat outside or upstairs (inc balcony). Good range of seating inside with the decor very modern, fresh and clean.

Given the Jubilee offering our choice of whether to choose a cheese or Charcuterie board was simple enough (one of each) and then arrived our glass of Classic Brut 2016, which was a very nice sparkling wine made using the grapes grown at Susan’s Hill.

Both the cheese and charcuterie slate boards were sufficient and full of taste across the board. Included (followed) was a freshly baked plain scone, jam, cream and fresh strawberries accompanied by tea or coffee. The scones were soft and quite possibly baked on site. Could have been nice to provide a fruit scone option with the plain, minor as they were lovely anyhow.

While at Woodchurch, you can complete a self guided tour with a guide, giving you a simple booklet showing the route with explanations at each number point.

Overall a great afternoon and a place which attracts local and further afield visitors on tours.

The vines have started to come into full canopy and bloom which is a nice time to visit any vineyard.

A lovely part of Kent. Graham was informative, relaxed and a great host.

The various wines were excellent. Would definitely recommend.
