I can’t add more than description about what the place is or what to expect, there are a lot of helpful reviews.
But I can add some tips about how to get to here since there is almost zero information about it (or at least that I was able to find).
We left from BaiSe train station, which is 6 minutes walking from the train station (it’s called Highway coach station or something like that).
There you can go to the ticket office and ask for tickets to Jingxi (they will understand the pronunciation). Good luck dealing with Chinese stuff to know what is your bus and when you can get in (they are really helpful anyway).
Once in Jiangxi you have to go to the south terminal station (our bus from BaiSe arrived to the main station), which is 5 minutes walking. There will be a lot of drivers asking for rides, unless you know Chinese or want to deal with them just ignore them.
At the south station, they will also understand Tonglin pronunciation so you will be safe. You have to go to the ticket office and make them understand what you want, they are nice people as well. You will have to deal to know which bus it’s the one you have to take but saying Tonglin and showing the ticket should be enough to make them understand.
Enjoy the travel if you are not used to South Asian roads. They will let you know when to leave the bus. You will be seeing panel with the Tonglin distance you will be totally safe. You will get off on the road, so just look at both sides and cross and you will be there.
Once there buy the tickets, enjoy the nice views and activities and Filis the signs to get back. There are staff around the way that will let you know where to go. At the end you will be asked for stop until the bus comes for you (it’s free and it will take you back to the entrance).
Now, to get back. Go to the intersection where you took off the bus and wait there for the bus to come. Just make a sign and they will stop. You will get back to Jingxin and you will have to make the inverse route this time, nothing tricky here. In Jinxgin they will know you go to BaiSe so you will be safe.
There is a checkpoint where they ignored us on our way there, but made the bus stop for a while on the return trip. The police officers will check your passport and ask your itinerary and blablabla. Don’t worry but be aware of this.

I took a local bus about 5 minute walk from the main station to the turnoff for the Tongling Grand Canyon and found a simple hotel for I think 80CNY. It was a few minute walk from the rafting for Gulong Mountain. It cost me 190 and I think cheaper from other reviews if you are 2. My guide asked for a tip and I gave him 50 and it was well worth it, he paddled so hard and was super pleasant. Be prepared your guide will ask for a tip and please give it. The rafting was great. The water was not deep and I didn't get wet, but it was relaxing and we went through 3 caves. We floated down the river not seeing anybody else although tour groups bring their clients. I then walked the 1 kilometer plus to the canyon entrance. This site should be amazing but they have put up so many colored lights going down the stairs of the cavern it takes away from the nature. The waterfall is nice but even there they have built a curtain and no longer seems natural. I'd 100% do the rafting and probably the canyon too but it was disappointing knowing how great it should be.

I was sceptical about the rafting, but it was great. The experience of floating in a rubber dinghy through the caves was really cool. Well worth the Rmb130 extra.
I joined a local tour which is not for everyone, but suited me.
Regret I didn't get the walking chance as well but the rafting was better than anything similar I have done before.

Jingxi is a lovely town in which people are not used to tourists. We arrived by train. At the trainstation we asked the taxidriver to bring us to a cheap hotel. We ended up paying 60 per night for a double in a really nice hotel. Unfortenately the taxidriver ripped us off by asking 30 for his trip.
The inhabitants in Jingxi are amazing. They stop and stare a lot, since we are foreigners, but they are really friendly. In the city center they have a lake which is nice to walk around. There is also a mountain near the lake which you can hike up, in approximately 20 minutes. A lot of people do this as an exercise for the day. There are lights along the stairs up to the top of the mountain. You have quite a nice view over the city which is surrounded by mountains.
Trip to the TONGLING CANYON:
We went to the Tongling canyon. From the hotel we took a tricycle to the south busstation to the Tongling canyon. The bus trip to the canyom took us around 1 hour. If you get off the bus you can either go to the entrance directly on the right side of the village (for rafting) or you can continue walking for about 2 km and go to the other entrance (hiking trail in canyon to the waterfall).
RAFTING near Tongling canyon: the entrance fee was 150 (student discount)You can walk from the entrance to the boats (30 minutes). It is an easy down hill walk. The surrounding is beautiful. At the end of the trail you get in the rafts (2 persons per boat) and you get your private guide. You will just sit in the boat and the guide will do the rafting for you (for around 1.5 hour). It is not dangerous and we did not get any wet. We could easily take pictures during the boat trip. The nature was amazing! We did even raft through caves.
In the end of our boat trip our guide was asking for a tip. We gave him 5 and he did not accept this. He wanted to have 20. We tought it was really strange that he was asking for it, and that he didn't accept it, so we ended up not giving anything.
After the boat trip there is a bus waiting for you to bring you back to the main entrance.
This trip was amazingly beautiful! Maybe a bit expensive but defenitely worthwile! It was not really touristy. Plus us there were around 15 others in this place.
HIKING/WALKING Tongling cayon: After the rafting we went to the canyon and the waterfall. Here we paid an other 55 yuan (student discount). It was a nice and easy hike/walk to the waterfall. The nature was beautiful. You could walk behind the waterfall, which was really nice. There were not a lot of tourists here. We have been taking a lot of pictures, so it took us around 3 hours in total. If you walk fast you might be able to finish in 1 hour. The hardest part was to walk from the exit back to the entrance (which was perfectly doable though..). I guess you can even take a bus from the exit back to the entrance.
The waterfall was really nice, and the surroundings were beautiful. I can't say it was a real hike, but it was a nice walk in the canyon to the waterfall.
BIKING around Jingxi:
We went to the bikeshop in Smlmd in Jingxi and rented mountainbikes for 30 per 24 hours. The bikes were really good. The owners of this shop do not speak english but they are really helpfull and are using the translator on their phone to communicate if you don't speak Chinese.
We biked from the city to different villages around Jingxi. There were some steep hills during the route, but the nature is beautifull and defenitely worthwile to bike around. They do have really good bikelanes if you follow the bike-signs from village to village. Unfortanetly we did found out about those bikelanes by the end of our trip, so I can not give a lot of advise about that. We just had a really simple map so we basically just biked around and followed the way we liked the most. I am not sure if they have better maps somewhere, at least we could not find it.

We arrived there from Baise via Jinxi in about 2-3hours bus drive.Out of Jinxi there is a military check-point.As a foreigner you have to be prepared of an intensive passport check.
You pay 190Y each for the ticket.
Then you can hike in the area of the scenic spot.. The rafting tour is included.
You will see beautiful dramatic landscapes and waterfalls.
The rafting can be quiet wet so be sure that you have got swimming pants or some cloth to change and bags for your technical devices.
And you have a driver so you don't have to paddle by yourself .-but it is not dangerous!!After the one hour trip through the fantastic landscape with underground waterfalls and caves the boatsman asks for a tip-we gave him 30yuan -he was ok with it!

Hi,
I will be in Nanning next two weeks. I would like to go from Nanning to Detian falls, then go to Tongling Grand Canyon (spending one night near or between Detian/Tongling), and return to Nanning.
Is it possible to do it by public transport?
Is it possible to stay overnight (hotel or hostel) near the falls?
How can I get from Detian to Tongling Canyon?
And returning from Tongling Canyon to Nanning?
Thanks a lot!

Check how to get there `ShowUserReviews-g1575818-d1834118-r696833010-Tongling_Grand_Canyon-Jingxi_County_Guangxi.html`
I think there is a hotel in front of the place, there is nothing else close by.
