Lovely place to visit, lots of cool art, nicely landscaped grounds. Have been there a number of times.
I will however not order their riesling anymore. Smells and tastes like gasoline / diesel? Wonder if I can make my car run on it?

In all fairness, tis horrible taste is not limited to 13th street, I have bought it from other Niagara area wineries. On decanter.com oenologist Michel Chapoutier notes that “The petrol characteristics in Riesling are undesirable and constitute a fault in the wine”
One has to have balls to market a product like that! If you like rRiesling buy one from Germany!

My sister booked a Wine Tasting @ 4pm on July 9th, 2022 for me, my niece and herself. It was a Birthday Experience filled with wonderful adventures. The Wine tasting was phenomenal and Dianne was extraordinary. She was knowledgeable and did not lead us down the garden path although I will say the grounds are stunning with the forest and the rows and rows of grapes and the Art Gallery. This is truly a unique experience like no other. But the pièce de résistance was the butter tarts from their bakery. Kill me now, I've died and gone to heaven. Plain Butter tart; Raisin Butter Tart; Pecan Butter Tart are the choices and I have never ever in my life tasted anything so scrumptious. My god, I will drive back just for them. Bravo Thirteenth Street!!

A winery with an opportunity to experience something different. The grounds liberally sprinkled with sculptures of many types is your first cue that there is more than wine here.
A large open air bistro area to enjoy wine and food on offer, tasting room, bakery & gift shop and then a roomy stand alone art gallery with showings changing monthly. Plan on spending some time and exploring all that interests you. There is plenty of parking which is definitely as asset on busy weekends in the summer

Much MORE filling in the tarts!
Their tarts taste great!
HOWEVER:
I always compare any butter tarts I buy to the ones my mother used to make when I was a kid. Hers were homemade pastry, and she filled the shells with tart filling. All tart makers today seem to try to get away with as little filling as possible, while still charging a premium price, and 13th street is guilty of this. Therefore, I think their tarts are seriously overpriced for what you get in them!!!

Went for the Icewine festival passport. Nice food pairing with poutine. First time visiting, loved the fire pits with blankets. Butter tarts good but expensive. The icewine was the best of the 6 wineries we visited, we did by a bottle of it.

One of the most interesting presentations of butter tarts I have seen and tasted in awhile......
If you are more of a traditionalist of the lighter, drier crust you may not find these to your liking....but you do not know til you try....
The crust is a more solid, crispy, honey-like delight...somewhat like a few baklava compressed together. It is great and will definitely stick to your teeth.
The fillings are the usual ORIGINAL and RAISIN but these are MUCH MORE concentrated, fuller and RICHER.
The other flavours which might titillate your palette are SCORES, NUTELLA and SOUR CHERRY. Personally, I found these a bit too much for me but ALL of these are definitely worth the money ($2.95-$3.25).
I wonder what 13th Street Winery wines will pair with the butter tarts????

Wine is okay.
We ordered charcuterie and cheese.
There are more olives, nuts and dry apricots than cheese and charcuterie.

Ridiculous.
Don't expect more than 3 to 4 thin/small slices of meat per person.

Really disappointed.
The price is such a joke.

I have never been so disappointed in my life. What a beautiful setting and such beautiful artwork all around, but you stand in line to order your food and pay before to get it, only for it to show up in cardboard bowls and boxes with the cheapest plastic utensils they could find over half hour later. They bend when you use them. The food was not memorable in the least. My two friends had the summer squash salad for $16 each and they said it wasn’t great. We also ordered burrata which was small and came with a small loaf of white bread for $18 which had no flavour. I ordered the smoked salmon sandwich which was good but couldn’t cut it due to the cheap utensils. It’s not a sandwich which you can hold as it has a poached egg on top $17. I asked the server to please get me a real knife and she told me “we don’t do that” I told her I have a disability and can’t cut with the wobbly plastic knife so she trotted off to get me a knife and literally threw it on the table. We each had a glass of wine (3) and the bills came to over $100 just to eat out of cardboard. Sorry but I won’t be back.

Visited 13th Street Winery this week with our good friends and had a very nice and excellent experience. Shane, our server was so great with everything and we got the privilege to discuss with J-P Colas, about his passion and so generous of his time on all the questions we had for him. Wine, bakery, boutique with the so good butter pies along with pizza served on site on Friday night with live music just made our visit totally extraordinary and recommend to all to go and enjoy 13th Street Winery experience. Thanks to the whole 13th Street Winery’s team!!!
