Exciting and curious

To the top of the Fort, now just a hill, was relaxing, to see the blue sea, as far as the eye can see. Also great historical site as it holds the tomb of Captain M James Clarke. A nice beach with facilities to the base of the fort.

Nice large park area to hang out

Interesting, there is a tomb here, as well. After we arrived home, we looked him up, and didn't find much information about him. Lovely trees, and views. Also learned, after seeing kites in trees, there are kite championships here in Tobago, just like the book "The Kit Runner". An awesome book, if you haven't read it.

Fort remains on a hill, near a good beach

We turned off the road returning to Scarborough, to visit this fort and take a light lunch. You climb quite a few steps to get to the main viewpoints, which allow to you to see up and down the nearby coastline. If you are as old as I am, there are some seats where you can recover from the climb and admire the views. As at other similar locations, there is a summary of the location's history standing at the entrance, and a few cannons higher up. All journeys on Tobago take longer than you expect and stopping points such as this are welcome.

Wish I could build my house near this place!

Just a few minutes drive from Scarborough, this little haven is a must see! Free entry, free parking and toilet facilities on site. Before going up the steps, take a seat on one of the benches facing the sea. The sea breeze cannot compete with AC—it’s absolutely refreshing! Up in the fort area you can stroll through the entire place admiring the trees and view overlooking the sea. The place is very clean with several garbage bins all around. Lots of benches and huts with tables too. On the other side beyond the white picket fence is a short trail that leads down to where the sea beats against some large rocks. It gives you a good view of the other side of Scarborough. A good place for large groups and picnics. There’s a small restaurant/bar near the entrance. The best time to go is during the week—we had the place all to ourselves!

dette sted er ikke den store oplevelse, da der ikke er meget at se. Det eneste er en der er begravet med en stor sten på. Men udsigten er ganske flot.
