Miska, our guide, was unbelievably inappropriate and offensive. We should have just left in the first minute when his opening welcome was launching a 2 minute political tyraid against the educational system filled with homophobic hatred. In a combination of shock, awkwardness and just wanting to share a rum tasting with our visiting friends, we stayed thinking the further ramblings would be about rum. No, it never stopped. Trying to feign humor the content was always narcissistic, misogynistic, homophobic, ableistic and generally indecorous. I am embarrassed we took our friends to this tasting and I will never buy another Cayman Spirits product. What a terrible experience.

Fantastic tour and tasting at the Distillery! They have so much knowledge and history to tell you plus you get a taste of so many of their products and see the production process. Everything we tasted was great! If you like distilleries then don’t miss this one on Grand Cayman.

Such a fun time. The rum is amazing and our tour guide, Misko, was very entertaining. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Cayman.

Truly outstanding! The host was very knowledgeable and gave a great presentation filled with laughter and excitement plus a wide array of samples from the bar!

Incredibly entertaining and informative distillery presentation with tasting of exceptional small batch Spirits. This is NOT a big polished commercial operation, and that’s what makes them special. They are a small family owned business that makes outstanding rum and other distilled spirits in a 5000 sq ft warehouse at the end of an alley in the industrial area of town. Our bartender/guide was knowledgeable about the process and products and very entertaining. Highly recommended.

It was an amazing experience. Rum tasting with explanation was marvellous but the Rums choices presented where of top quality!

The rum was delicious and our host, Poseidon himself, was awesome! Haha
He had us laughing the entire time and was extremely knowledgeable of the entire process. If you're visiting and looking to take a break from the beach scene this is a perfect little stop!

Not your average rum tour, our guide was a great people person. The rum isn't half bad either. But seriously this is good rum, even if I question some of the "marketing". It's good stuff and you should go try some. Decide for your self

If you get the opportunity to do the tour, please do! It’s informational and Misko is extremely entertaining! We thoroughly enjoyed it and we’re not even rum fans! Don’t miss this!

I read some comments to a question about the distance from the Cruise Port. People were saying it was about 2 miles. I checked Google Maps and see that it is a 2km (25 minute) walk. Has anyone walked here from the cruise port? Is it a safe walk?

We walked from our resort - also about 25/30 minutes. It was safe and clean just through some more neighborhoods rather than just downtown.
Do they offer travel size to take home??

Yes they do. We took several samples with us. We packed them in our suitcase that was checked baggage and there was no problem getting them home.
what is the best tour time to use if we also want to go to Hell? Our ship will be there from 7-3. Not sure if should go to distillery first or last.

Yes I think you can buy it. You can buy any of the items them make. I have a pic of it and all the types they make. We were able to drink as much as we want for the time we were there.

Can we just show up at the distillery by taxi and pay for entry at the door

It’s safer if you make a reservation. If you happen to get there when a big tour group arrives it can get crowded. But I’m sure the staff will do their best to accommodate you.

My father is 82 and wants to do this tour. He’s not in a wheelchair, but he isn’t able walk terribly long distances. How much walking is required on this tour between places to sit for a break?

they have specific times for tours but you can just show up. We paid $5 for a taxi ride and it is a little to far to walk

We just walked up to the straw hut at the cruise exit by the restrooms and they had a tour for the distillery there. They basically drove you to and from for $18 person. I guess we could have taken a cab but definitely couldn't have walked as it's fairly far away and in an industrial area. It's a liquor store so you could just walk in and say you want a tour and tasting and it's free.
