Really lovely visit.
Parking not great, you take your chances with the potholes but it’s worth driving down a little further.
The beach is pebbles, then shingle, but when the tide is out the sand and the rock pools are amazing - just be careful of the sinking sand!!!

Absolutely loved this little find it has become my favourite place, clean fresh friendly peaceful, lovely walks and pet friendly with an amazing restaurant and bar and little cafe ☕️

Dogs encased in soft mud. Worst experience ever! My heart stopped . Two dogs in thick mud and clay. Literally up to their chins. Why there is no warning, I don’t know!

Great beach for children with rock pools shells and even dinosaur prints if you look carefully. Sandy part to the beach when the tide is out. Lovely cafe for a coffee and sausage baguette.

This was a really nice beach with free parking along the road. We went when the tide was out so not only was there the stoney beach slope but there was the bottom of the sea, which had come out to play. Nice views.

Lovely place but dangerous because Rother council wont do anything about the now half rotten grouns which are parallel to the beach,,,

We parked behind the sea wall and walked along the shingle beach to the cliffs. Shingle gave way to some flat stones but the tide was up too far to see the wreck of the Anne and we had no luck finding the fossils for which the beach is famous.
So our recommendation is to go when the tide is out!
Disappointed that we did not see the wreck! It would have been 5* if we had!

My friends and I went to Pett Level to do some research on the beach facilities such as how effective the groynes are and to take a beach profile. The tide was out meaning we could take a look at the sunken forest, and we even found some beautiful shells. The fossils were of great quality and my friends and I had a lot of fun finding cool ones. We didn’t work the whole time, after all! Conducting the beach profile was a little tricky because of the wind, and I had to chase a sheet of paper down the beach (to no avail) but it was a great memory anyway. Unfortunately we got caught in a thunder and lightning storm, and since there is no proper shelter on or around the beach, we found ourselves huddled under a sea wall with nothing but my umbrella shared between the four of us. It’s safe to say that we travelled home soaking wet, and we were sad that we didn’t get ice cream at the infamous ice cream van, but was an informative and fun day out nonetheless. Definitely would recommend, but if it’s forecast to rain, definitely remember to bring ample waterproofs as there is no shelter!

Great place to visit along with hasting Country Park. Again only the locals know about the beach and it is not crowded as compared to your typical beaches for tourists.

There are some but they were locked when I visited apart from the disabled one which was smeared with excrement .... disgusting

From May 1 to September 30th dogs are not allowed at Pett Level. I always walk my dogs at Rye Harbour off leash all year long.

Is the beach at Pett Level dog friendly, if not could you advise any beach nearby to walk my dog whilst on holiday.

some of the dogs are quite friendly, but there are others who just never smile, small ones usually have problems.
