We took a short walk around the village. It has a calm vibe to it. We did see the famous zostel property in chitkul. They are quirky wall art on houses.

Chitkul is the last village (then the border area starts after a few kilometres). It has a school, post office, and a dhaba (it claims Hindustan ka akhri dhaba (India's last food joint))

We had a wonderful family trip to Kinnaur Dist. in Himachal.
As we wanted to have some experience of the toy train, we started from Kalka by train and got down at Dharampur station. From Dharampur it was all a road trip. We took a night halt at Shimla and next day we set on to explore Kinnaur district. To keep short road trips we had planned our halts accordingly. Our first halt was at Sarahan. And next day we set on towards Sangla. The road trip was quite adventurous and thrilling. We decided to put base in Sangla. Had booked a great Home stay - Negi Cottage. If you are traveling as a family, then their Family suite is highly recommended. Food and hospitality were outstanding.
The next day we set on to Chitkul. The route and the destination both were captivating. I had read about low oxygen situation in Chitkul. But we did not face any such concern.
From Chitkul we came back to Sangla and continued our stay.
After Chitkul it was our return leg of tour. We had a stopover at Narkanda and then back to Chandigarh.
We wished to stay away from the crowd and Kinnaur offered us all that we were looking for.
We had used the cab service of Mr. Bhupinder (Sonu bhai). A very friendly and easy going person. I had got his reference through the reviews of tripadvisor and he indeed surpassed our expectations. I would highly recommend him (His contact details 9816378229 / 9817356899)

We went to Chitkul as part of our trip from Chandigarh - Solan - Sangla - Ratcham - Chitkul - Kalpa - Shimla - Chandigarh. We stayed at Ratcham and drove to Chitkul . I was a little unwell and chose to stay back at Ratcham while my friends could explore Chitkul. However last minute i changed my mind and decided not to miss CHITKUL -the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border. The drive was beautiful and the view on reaching there was mesmerizing. Its one of the few pristine locations in India which is yet to get commercialized or polluted. The beautiful green Baspa river enroute , the pleasant cool wind blowing and the beautiful sound of the crystal clear streams of waters were all a treat. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves to be in the lap of nature

We drove all the way from Delhi to Chitkul - 602 Kms - 6 days - 3 stay-overs later, we reached this scenic destination Chitkul - the last village of India near the Indo-Tibetan border. In March, there was snow on the other side of the river. But everything was breathtaking!

It’s a good destination for a day trip from Sangla, there are no good accommodations in Chitkul. You can enjoy the lovely weather in this the last village of India. You can visit the Last dhaba of India and enjoy rajma- chaval lunch. Do drive further 4 kms to the last ITBP check post. Get down to the river side , you can chill out over there and take photos. Also you may like to visit Chitkul Devi temple which is open in morning and evenings, near by is fort and monastery . You will enjoy the amazing weather and views from Chitkul.
