Helicopter trip with VIP visit. Not worth it. All the pathways dug up muddy and very badly managed. The VIP pass costs about 2100 rupees but the line had about 3000 people waiting. No bhakti anywhere just money venture. 2 second Darshan and move. Peoples faith is being played with and money made.
Helicopter service is poor, no 5 kg bag allowed because instead of 5 passengers, the company put 6 with no seat belts.
It is operated like a mafia controlled system. You just pay pay.
The Helicopter cost is more than 107000 rupees for a trip(about $2000 AUD. Wasted money. Better Shiva ji at Home.

My visit to Kedarnath via helicopter was nothing short of magical! From the moment we took off, the aerial views of the majestic Himalayas left me in awe. The ride was smooth and offered breathtaking panoramas of lush valleys and towering peaks, setting the perfect tone for the spiritual journey ahead.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the stunning sight of the Kedarnath Temple nestled against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. The atmosphere was filled with devotion and tranquility, instantly making me feel connected to the divine.
I opted for a one-day stay, which allowed me to immerse myself fully in the experience. The accommodation was comfortable and conveniently located, making it easy to explore the surroundings. The highlight of my visit was the morning pooja at the temple. Witnessing the rituals and chanting early in the morning was deeply moving and spiritually uplifting. The good part was that we had a contact named Kishen ph 7895860300 with whom we pre booked 4 mules and Kishen guided us thru all the formalities..registration, booking a mule, etc. making the whole headache getting from Sitapur to Gaurikund via different modes of transport a whole lot easier. He gave us excellent horses and good handlers. On reaching Kedarnath, if you look up, you can see Mahadev dancing in the mountain peaks but if you looked down, all you will see is rampant construction, too much crowd, long queues of people, 22,000 mules, gutter water flowing on way to temple, shoes everywhere outside temple, groups of people pushing and shoving and breaking the line, having to line up at 2 am and still waiting 5 hrs for darshan due to paid VIP line and private pujas getting preference, NO SECURITY CHECK, people carrying big backpacks inside temple, complete absence of police or temple authorities to manage the chaos, uninterested priests. Barely got a second inside for darshan as people were shoving so much. Mahadev must be disgusted. I definitely was. Why do humans always spoil places?

Don't Plan Kedarnatg trip if you don't have pre-booked Helicopter tickets. Even if you are very healthy & energetic then also you will regret why you have choosen treking because those khachhars will hit you at every other second & if you hired khachhar or pitthu or palki...then you will weather i will remain alive till my destination or not...so so horrible...kedarnath trek way has become hell by khachhars...believe me..

This review is written on behalf of my parents who visited the Kedarnath temple earlier this month. While it is difficult to compare a pilgrimage trip with a regular holiday, if I could attempt to define the overall experience in one word, it would be “mismanaged”.
The trip to the temple was a part of the famous “Char-Dham Yatra” in Uttarakhand. Prior registrations are necessary to take part in the same. However, this rule isn’t followed on ground. For every registered traveler, there were at least four unregistered ones leading to unimaginable crowds and chaos. The administration swung into action belatedly when hordes of unregistered tourists had already crowded the circuit. And what an amazing response they had to manage the crowd! Instead of checking the registration certificates, they resorted to crowd control and in fact, at one point, the CRPF personnel even pushed one elderly couple away.
The cherry on the cake was the priest at the temple – Nitin Shukla (disclosure: there could be an error in my parents’ recollection of the name). He took the puja packets from my parents inside the grabhgriha. As is the usual practice there, the puja packets contained some sindur, silver artefacts, and prasad. When he brought the packets back, the silver artefacts were missing.
While my parents are still content that they at least, could have a darshan of the deity unlike thousands of others who were ushered away because of the gross mismanagement, not getting some of their belongings back from one of the priests did leave a bitter aftertaste.

Siddhkedarnath Temple is a sacred and ancient pilgrimage site located in Uttarakhand. This temple is one of the most important temples of Hinduism and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Kedarnath Temple is located in the lap of the Himalayas, on the banks of the Mandakini River and is known for its unique natural beauty and religious significance. This spiritual experience is extremely important for the devotees. Kedarnath Dham is part of the Char Dham Yatra and every year thousands of pilgrims come here for viewing. The temple's history and architecture are also extremely attractive, making this site important from a religious and cultural point of view.

If you are going on flight take flight from Mumbai to dehradun, then take cab or bus from dehradun to rishikesh, then take bus from rishikesh to sonprayag,
Take a room there for night stay, start in the early morning for gaurikund by taking available vans .

We are planning char dham yatra in May end and for all other dhams except yamunotri registration is done but at yamunotri we couldn't get our planned date everything rooms tickets are booked so will there be any issue at yamunotri darshan and can we get offline registration done for yamunotri at haridwar if it is showing full in online mode??

Can we do uttarkhand char dhaam yatra in 6 to 8 days? Since i will be travelling with my parents who are senior citizens, then apart from the trek to Kedarnath,are there options like cable car or helicopter available? If yes from where do we book from?

Link for helicopter booking is available on Uttrakhand tourism department. . Keep a track on booking start date. Almost all the tickets get sold out within minutes. So keep ur documents ready for uploading.
I didn't get tickets, moreover we all preferred tracking. There are no cable car available. Vehicle goes directly to Shri Badrinath. In Shri Kedarnath, u have other options like horses n Piththu. Book ur rooms in Shri Kedarnath well in advance from GMVN website if u plan to stay there. Rooms from Yatradham are also good and some of them are just nearby temple. I visited these both in October 2022. I stayed there 2 nights and had booked from both GMVN n Yatradham.
I am yet to visit Gangotri n Yamunotri. U can call 6355615660 for more details.
