There are 5 museums located in the same building which are as below :
Minerals Museum
Shells Museum
Fish Museum
Pearls Museum
Dino Museum
Along with these there is shop for purchasing shells, pearls and some souvenirs and a game zone.
The entry tickets will cost 500/- if taken individually, but there is a combo which is offered at 300/-
Mobile photography - 100/-
It takes around 1.5-2hrs to see all the places of you are going in an easy pace.
We can lots and lots of varieties of shells, pearls, fish, etc etc.
Few famous ones are world's smallest pearls, pearls in different shapes, shells which look like food grains, colourful shells and the list goes on.
There is a small cafe offering some snacks.
Lots of places to click selfies.
Totally worth it visiting the place.

Excellent seashell museum as well as a mineral display, which is well maintained. Incredible to see so many varieties of shells collected over the years and descriptions about all of them.. Very informative and interesting. Well worth the entrance fee,

This place was good value for money (600 rupees for a ticket for everything). But beware that they have a weird extra ticket to buy if you want to take photos and videos.
Some parts of the museum are super interesting and beautiful like the initial sea shell art gallery of sorts. Another highlight was the seashell museum itself as it is crazy to see so many variations of seashells in one place.
However, some other parts of the museum were not to the same standard. The dinosaur section was not really interesting or breath-taking. The sea-life section was especially disappointing as it wasn't organised and things weren't labelled correctly.
There was a shop as well - but we didn't buy anything there. Furthermore there is a fish foot massage where you can pay 100 rupees for 15 mins of - it was quite ticklish and fun to try out.

Visited in day time our our to way to Pondicherry. Very nice and huge collection of shells. Good for museum lovers only..

The museum has some good things about collection of shells and artifacts made from them. However ticket is overpriced. Its a small museum and tickets are overpriced. People are lured to buy into combo offer of Rs. 300 per person instead of summed up price of Rs. 500 (which is hyperinflated. further, two museums are not included (3D trick art museum which is Rs. 50 extra, and horror museum (another 50 extra).
While technically management is clearly stating what is included, they are not mentioning, what is not included. Feels like misguiding of all inclusive price of 300 rupees. It seems many others have also given this feedback.

The Sea Shells museum as well as the others at the site (the Minerals Museum, the Pearl Museum, the Aquarium and Nassa the Dinosaur museum) were all fantastic. Everyone in the group including my niece & nephew who are 10 years to 18 years old as well as the adults (30 to 75 years old) enjoyed the museum. The collection in each museum far exceeded our expectations. The facility, the display and description are world class. It took about 1.5 hours to cover all the museums. Absolutely worth it. Kudos to the founder Mr Raja Mohammad for his vision and keeping it so affordable for everyone that would visit Mahabalipuram. "Most underrated and fascinating collection" - in the words of an 18 years old visiting from California.

As I titled it ...Extremely unique museum and must visit plas in Mahabalipuram..mind blowing. Especially if you have young children...definitely to worth visiting. It is one of the biggest shell museums in Asia.
