We stumbled on this little museum whilst walking the Coast Path and what a brilliant little gem it is! Full of boats in different stages of restoration, masses of really interesting information and stories, models, equipment and a (one time) dry dock, complete with picnic tables overlooking the estuary. The guide and members were really welcoming, had fascinating stories and insights to share and there was so much to see - I wish we'd had longer there. A real hidden treasure.

When the weather is good, the best place to view the estuary is from our boat yard. You are welcome anytime and thank you for your review.

What a find for a sailing family! Lovely. Everyone was working hard to restore lovely old boats, or build new ones, yet gave up the time to talk to us and show us around. We are all groudups now, but can see it would be a great place for kids.

Brilliant place, lots of fascinating history and many artifacts on display in the museum, a must-visit if your in Pembroke. A lovely guide who gave us a quick tour, would recommend, We had a great time.

Beautiful location with very knowledgeable volunteer staff. We were treated to a personal tour of all restoration sheds and very interesting local facts and maritime information. It is very clear the huge dedication and outstanding workmanship taking place there to rescue and restore historical vessels for future generations. A great place to visit for all ages.

Located at Hancocks Boatyard with its own dock and slipway this small museum tells the history of ship and boat building in Pembroke Dock. Its run by volunteers and they're currently developing the site.
They restore classic boats and a 1908 Lifeboat, Charterhouse (which was stationed in nearby Fishguard) is one of those that you can see craftsmen working on. Great way to spend a few hours with a guided tour.

We were walking part of the coast path which takes you past the entrance to this museum at Pembroke Dock. What an interesting place! We were up against the clock and couldn’t stay long but had an extremely warm welcome by one of the volunteers. He showed us the very first UK lifeboat which was motorised which is being renovated there. They’re making a grand job of it and there’s lots more to see which we didn’t have time for. We are looking forward to going back when we have more time. Plus the entrance is FREE!!

Wonderful little-known museum that catalogues the history of boat and ship building in Pembroke Dock.
Fascinating insights given by our tour guide Lee, whose enthusiasm was infectious.
A must visit if you’re in Pembrokeshire and love unearthing a bit of rarely reported history.

Excellent presentation about the History of Maritime in the Museum as well as I got a great guide while visiting there with amazing explanations about the different museum section. Thank you so much for such a great opportunity to view this museum in my life. This is my heart suggesting for everyone who wants to know about the history of water transportation and the history of boats This is the best place to explore your knowledge and inquisition about the different stages of boats development and how the people started their journey today's world submarine development.
