Das Resort auf neuem Grund; das "alte" Team wundervoll, herzlich, hilfsbereit; der Slogan "come as a guest, leave as a friend" ist ein Versprechen - also alles wie immer schon.
Seit 2004 - ausgenommen CovZeit - reise ich nun fast jährlich zu Simone und ihrem besonderen Team.
Das Resort hat Simone aus der Not heraus neu entstehen lassen. Es ist ein wunderschöner magischer Ort geworden. Wer sich hier nicht wohlfühlt, dem ist nicht zu helfen.
Zur Ausstattung der Bungalows muss man nichts sagen, es ist alles vorhanden, was man wirklich braucht. Hat man Wünsche, fragt man nach, und es wird möglich gemacht.
Die neue Tauchbasis wird sehr gut geführt.
Die Bootscrew sieht, wenn Hilfe benötigt wird und packt an, bevor man zum bittenden Fragen kommen würde. Jeder Guide ist auf Sicherheit bedacht und zeigt alles, was zu sehen ist. So lässt es sich anschließend auch gemeinsam über Erlebtes freuen.
Über das Tauchgebiet braucht man nicht viel zu sagen, es ist toll.
Auch über Land lässt sich viel Neues entdecken. Ob Vulkan-, Highland-, Wasserfalltour etc. - alles ist sehenswert. Diesmal brach ich zu einer geführten Mangroventour auf dem Kanu auf, um die vielen schönen Tiere zu entdecken, die dem "Dschungel" die typischen Geräusche geben.
In Lembeh entdeckte ich erstmals die Insel bei einer Rundfahrt, sehr interessant.
Diesmal traf ich Freunde aus NL, die ich im Thalassa vor Jahren kennenlernte, und nach nur wenigen Stunden mit allen vom Team stellte sich dieses Gefühl ein, wir sind eine Familie.
Der Abschied von Land und Leuten, vor allem aber von Simone und ihrem Team fiel entsprechend schwer.

Een fijn, kleinschalig resort waarbij je veel contact hebt met de andere gasten. De kamers zijn heerlijk en onze buitenbadkamers waren prachtig! Het natuurlijk zwembad was een heerlijke plek om bij te relaxen na een ochtend of dag duiken, en het duiken zelf was ongeëvenaard. Ook de service op de boot (thee, koffie, snacks, droge handdoeken) was goed geregeld.
Helaas is het resort verhuisd, waardoor niet alle foto's meer up-to-date zijn. Zo zitten ze niet langer aan het strand, maar in de jungle.
Ook was het eten niet heel afwisselend. Twee kleine kaarten die om de dag gewisseld werden. Hierdoor aten wij vaak hetzelfde (kwaliteit was wel heel goed!).
Helaas is het resort verhuisd, waardoor niet alle foto's meer up-to-date zijn. Zo zitten ze niet langer aan het strand, maar in de jungle.
Ook was het eten niet heel afwisselend. Twee kleine kaarten die om de dag gewisseld werden. Hierdoor aten wij vaak hetzelfde (kwaliteit was wel heel goed!).

Magnificent dives on the beautiful coral reef drop offs of Bunaken National Park, accompanied by skillfulguides who find all the wonders of the reef for you. Very well organized boats including meals between dives. Zero equipment carrying as everything is taken care of by the center's team including the rinsing. On the way back, dive in the large pool and freshly cut coconuts to quench your thirst... the bungalows, well equipped and air-conditioned, and the dining room blend into a pretty tropical garden. The simple meals are well adapted to the rhythm of the dive. Above all, the kindness and welcome of all the staff and the host, Simone, are exceptional so that you feel at home with friends.Possibility to spend a few days in the second establishment of the center in Lembeh, very nice too, if you are a Macro enthusiast! Zénitude from and to the airport from where the centre will take care of you. Singapore Airlines flew us from Paris to Manado and back very comfortably, easy. To be experienced without hesitation!

My husband and I just came back from the Thalassa Dive resorts, we stayed at both the Manado and Lembeh locations. I would recommend Thalassa dive resorts to anyone in a heartbeat.
While the Lembeh location is newer and more modern Manado is more authentic, but both were just outstanding in terms of food and staff. The diving was out of this world.
Indonesian people are the sweetest on earth and they will go out of their way to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. Meals were varied with plenty of fresh fruit, veggies and local and vegetarian options. If guests had special requests, staff was more than happy to accommodate.
Both locations have gorgeous pools but of course the highlight of the trip was the diving: in Manado, we enjoyed walk diving and many reefs (the best I have seen in our 25 years of diving) with big (so many turtles, it was insane) and smaller creatures as well as so many fish. Lembeh’s speciality was “muck diving” with many unusual and rare creatures cruising along the sandy bottom (frog fish and seahorses, otctopi, so many nudibranches, several small crab varieties among many others...) but the reefs in Lembeh were gorgeous too. I especially enjoyed the very knowledgeable guides who were so eager to find and show you all the different species (which are sometimes very hard to spot). There wasn’t a dive where we were not wowed. You read about it but it is truly unbelievable. Added bonus: boat staff take care of everything for you - equipment, rinsing, etc. They were so flexible with us and offered different trips tailored to our needs and wants. I highly recommend Bengka island as a dive site. Transfers from one resort to the other were so smooth as well. We just had a great diving vacation. Do make sure you bring some drops to rinse off your ears after diving, sometimes the water is not the cleanest around Lembeh.
I was so saddened to have to cut my trip short by a few days because of the Corona Virus. I seriously worry about the Thalassa operation and hope they can pull through this crisis. They so deserve it. The owners are genuine and warm people, so dedicated to the local staff and the diving community. I wish them well and hope to come back soon to the resort.

Al vele jaren organiseer ik duikreizen voor onze duikvereniging en dit jaar besloten wij om naar Manado te gaan. Het was een beste trip voor een relatieve korte periode maar meer dan de moeite waard. Het is ongelofelijk hoe vriendelijk de mensen van het ressort zijn en hoe leuk zij ook met elkaar omgaan. Er wordt alles aan gedaan om de lokale bevolking te helpen en dit geeft een bijzonder gevoel. Ik ben in veel landen geweest waar ik ook heb gedoken: Malediven, Zuid Afrika, Mauritius, Mozambique, Thailand, Bonaire, Egypte, Israel, etc maar Zoals in Manado heb ik het nog nooit gezien. Zoveel verschillende mogelijkheden en zoveel verschillende duiken. Echt een aanrader! De kamers, het zwembad en het eten waren goed verzorgd.
Wij willen zeker terug!

Wer einen entspannten Urlaub mit tollen Tauchgängen und gutem Essen in einem schönen Bungalo verbringen möchte ist hier richtig. Das Personal und die Menschen sind sehr nett. Wer gerne schwimmt kann auch gut seine Bahnen im großen Pool ziehen, dann anschliessend sich eine Massage gönnen und nicht zu vergessen die tollen Sonnenuntergänge genießen.

Nice and welcoming. Good diving lange rooms. Food great. Genuine friend staff, always looking for an opportunity to make things even more pleasant
On the downside: wifi only in hot restaurant, fans not functional. Bar limited. Due to high ceilings and extra cubic meters, the aircon in the rooms not enough.
We will be back to enjoy more diving. Greatings Simone

Zeer gastvrij resort gelegen bij Bunaken ,Manado, Noord Sulawesi.Ruime bungalows met warm water, douche, toiletairco en minibar.Duikcentum met camera room, mogelijkheid om 1,2,3 duiken per dag te maken en evt. een nachtduik te maken. Nederland, engels, duits en japans talig. Nederlandse leiding

Après une croisière plongée aux Raja Ampat, il me restait du temps avant de rentrer en France et comme j'avais rencontré Simone au Salon de la plongée à Paris et que nous avions l'idée d'organiser un séjour à Manado Nord, je suis allé me rendre compte sur place. J'y ai trouvé un Resort très accueillant, avec des endroits très romantiques qui ne déplairaient pas à des amoureux, un staff nombreux et attentionné, je devrai plutôt parler d'une famille tant Simone encadre avec gentillesse tout ce petit monde. Tout est organisé, pensé pour le confort et le plaisir des hôtes qui sont vite intégrés à cette famille. Les petits déjeuners et repas sont pris sous une grande coupole aérée et verdoyante où l'on se sent bien et sont d'une excellente qualité. Vous pouvez même prendre des cours de cuisine Indo avec le Chef. Il y a aussi la soirée Pizza cuites dans un vrai four à bois, un délice même pour un italien d'origine. Les Bungalows sont agréablement décorés et depuis la terrasse la vue sur la baie et les superbes couchers de soleil contribuent à donner cette atmosphère romantique. Mon séjour s'est déroulé début mars, c'était encore la période creuse, et nous n'étions que quelques plongeurs, ce qui renforce encore ce sentiment de proximité et de bienveillance. La maxime de Thalassa est "Come as a guest and Leave as a friend", j'ai très envie d'un "Comeback as a friend ..."

Albeit we went in the really low season and were the only guests at the time, the staff were always on hand to ensure we had everything we needed...even booking us a go-jek for us to the airport. The food was hot, fresh and excellent and the resort had everything you could want.
The bungalo was super clean, massive and very comfortable.
Sure there are a few little details overall (not the bungalo) that can be improved but they are minuscule. I.e. a pool cue needed the felt tip. Thats he only negative i could think of...which is a non issue.

How bad are the mosquitos? I get terrible reactions to mosquito bites and need to know whether there are clouds of mosquitos or just a few - that repellent will be effective against. Thanks very much!

Apologize for the late reaction. We have just discovered this feature. It's really difficult to predict the presence of mosquitos. We do have a few iin the morning and just before sun set but no clouds. We have Mosquito repellent and all rooms have mosquito nets.
