The Cup Noodles Museum in Osaka is a fun activity for an hour. Especially the "My Cup Noodles Factory" is a must. Here you can create and decorate your own cup noodles, which is great fun for both children and adults.
The museum part also looks beautiful. It is a pity that all descriptions in the museum are only in Japanese.

We love the experience, even being a bad adult and a teen rsrs.
Super interesting to know this Japanese success case.
The highlight is the customization of your own cup noodles, from packaging to ingredients.
It's a pity that all the information in the museum is in Japanese. After we suffered with the online translator we found out that there was a small English guide at the reception.

We had some time to kill so decided to visit this cup noodles museum. Note that if you want to take part to personalize your own cup noodle, you have to be there no later that 3:30pm. Probably fun for young kids or if you enjoy such activity. There is an exhibit hall to explain the founding of this company but unfortunately, all the exhibits are in Japanese so you need to have your Google translator with you to appreciate the background.

we purchased the ramen noodle making class it was so much fun
it was about 90 minutes and we started by getting a chicken head covering
then we were given the ingredients to make Ramen and we rolled out the dough. It was cooked, and then we placed it in a bag that we decorated. It was so much fun, although we were the only adults, that weren’t there with little children

From the train station there's signs with ducks pointing you in the right direction.
Free admission. When you arrive, someone at the desk will hand you tickets for the custom cup noodles. If you want to take the classes you have to book far in advance. There may be a lot of students there. It seems to be a popular field trip destination. Waves of kids were inside and more kept showing up the entire time.
You stand in a line until you get to the vending machines where you pay ¥500 per empty cup. I think it's three per person limit. There's a change machine if you have large bills only. At the front of the line you'll hand over your tickets, get lids, and wait for a table to open up in the decoration area. There you have a limited time to color the cups or whatever, I didn't do much of that, then you get into the line to actually have it made.
When you get to the front of that and they call you over to a side, they will have you crank a handle that places the noodles in the cup. From there you wait to pick the base and toppings. A lot of seafood ones so not good if you have sensitive seafood allergies. Then there's the lid sealing and shrink wrap after. Then you go over to the side area and pump air into the plastic bag they give you that will encompass the noodles as it inflates and protect them and a string to create a little handle.

I've always wanted to go, and now my dream has finally come true! The factory structure is so cute and unique! You can watch every process for as long as you like! The admission fee was cheaper than I expected, so I think it's good value for money! I hope there will be more opportunities like this all over Japan.

We knew tickets would run out early, so we hopped a train and arrived in time to secure 4 tickets and a 40 minute wait. It was well worth it though, and I would say it's definitely a "must do"
For 500 yen each (approximately $5 - $7) you can make your own custom Cup of Noodle, which is a fun experience. You get to color your cup, then select the ingrediants. You get to crank the handle and watch the noodles being put in your cup before watching it get sealed. The onsite museum is free and was informative and includes a short movie about how noodles are made, and a diorama of its creator home.. There is a full wall display of ramen products over the decades. Be ready to wait and arrive early as tickets do run out. The custom chicken ramen were 1000 yen ($9 - $11) The museum takes about an hour and if you decide to customize a noodle cup of your own, add about 30 -40 mins depending on how many people are there.
The locals are happy to point you in the direction of the museum if you ask. Instead of paying 180 yen for water from the vending machine out front, head down the side street and you'll find a vending machine with water for 80 yen.

This place was fantastic fun in the town of ikeda at the noodle musuem had a great hour here after the easy 5 minute walk from the station just down the road where theres signage to easy navigate to get there.
500yen to create your own noodle cup and put you artistic skills to the test with creating your own sealed masterpiece to take home to eat or just as a decoration.
after creating your cup get to get a little hands on spinning the wheel to force the pressure of noodles in to cup and the ladys behind the counter will allow you 4 toppings to have in before sealing it and shrink wrapping it just like you would buy at the shopping markets.once all done get a bag to put into it so it will be compacted like bubble wrap to take home for safe travels
Interesting art and timelines in the musuem to show how the noodle started up with a history of it all and the huge amount of different flavour and varietys on display from past to future
cute little souviner shop also on the way to the exit for some cool little reasonably prices gifts
Worth checking out for a fun little time out in the smallish looking town of ikeda

We came on our last day, when we have time and didn’t know where to burn. We took the train, followed google map. At the entrance we were welcomed by the security guard, otherwise we might have just walked past it! Upon entering, there’s lots of cup noodles models on the wall… Pay ¥500 to get the cup, design it, select ingredients and watch how the cup noodles are put together. And finally the feel good factor of being able to bring one home.

Great for kids (and adults). My son enjoyed making his original designed Cup Noodle so much we’ve gone a couple of times. Upstairs there is a break room with a vending machine that has international Cup Noodle flavors.

Hello,
I will be having a 19-hour layover in Osaka (ITM Airport) and will be flying out at 2:55pm the next day and wanted to try to go to the museum in the morning before my flight (I was not planning on making noodles, just walking around the museum and possibly making a cup). I had a couple questions:
- Is it easy to get there from the ITM airport and back? (I have a Suica card)
- Would I be able to bring my backpack and carryon roller suitcase inside, since I'll be coming from/going to the airport right after?
- Does anyone know, if I could just make my cup but not put anything inside of it, since I'll be traveling internationally?
Thank you!

You can certainly access the museum by train, it is a little bit of a walk from the station so you may want to store your luggage at an airport locker to make it easier.
The museum itself is not very big, the main draw card is “making the noodles”.
You could certainly buy and decorate your cup and not fill it if you wanted. However, they seal and heat shrink your noodle cup after filling so you can take it with you (check the immigration rules on the country you are travelling too first). It was fine for us to bring it back into Australia.

Is the museum open on the Mountain Day public holiday (12th August this year)?
Scritta in data 11 agosto 2019
Sorry, I tried to include a link but it wouldn’t let me. If you go on to the website cup noddles museum Osaka, select Menu and on the bottom you will see English. Once you select English- You will see the August calendar on the bottom of the page with open and closed days marked. Looks like it is open on August 12th.
Enjoy your visit!

Hi will be visiting the museum in October. Do we need to make reservation for the tour? I can't seem to find the link to registration.
Also if we do not make reservation for the tour, can we still DIY our own cup noodle?
Scritta in data 16 settembre 2018
No reservation is required. Once you entered the museum, you can prepare the noodle under their guidance. Enjoy!
Scritta in data 16 settembre 2018
Saw from their website mentioning that the Ramen Factory is only for kids that over 6 years old. is it possible if the kids younger than 6 guided by their parents to make the cup noodle?
Scritta in data 13 agosto 2018
Yes it is possible! There were so many little kiddies when we went. As long as they are supervised when it comes to colouring the cup noodles there should not be any issues
