There is a lot of overlap in the two tours, but NOLA is so thick with stories and history even a minor change in route makes a difference. The daytime tour focuses a bit more on the river front and art and architecture. The evening tour lets you see things as the night life begins to bloom. We did both because we REALLY like riding Segways. If you're only doing one tour, take the daytime 2 hour. You will become familiar with the old city and can walk to whatever you want to spend more time on later. Take note: Segways are no longer being manufactured. The day may come when this really fun way to see a city may become rare. Do it now, and NOLA is a great place to see.

Be courteous to others and call ahead. You will still have to demonstrate your competence but they can take you last and the demonstration should be quick. It's up to them. They often take the less experienced people first so the good riders aren't stuck standing on the Segways while someone gets the hang. I actually like that because I can rod around a little within reason.
