What a great experience. Did it once in August in warm weather, decided to come back for the brisk fall weather and wasn't disappointed. Two completely different experiences. Try day and late afternoon. Oct 28 sail and crew did not disappoint

Great experience, in my opinion the best way to have a tour of the bay because it is an intimate experience (only 20-30 people) on this historical boat.

The crew worked hard and were polite and friendly. However, what was advertised was a charcuterie and wine tasting with a wine expert. Based on the video on their website, we expected this to be high quality wine and food. What we actually got was a tiny cardboard box full of convenience-store quality “cheese food” in 3 tiny bites of cheese, a dried fig, and one cracker. It was paired with wine that was so cheap we all poured it out to avoid the horrible headaches that cheap wine cause. Given the additional price they charge for the food and wine, it was a bit of a rip off. Other than that, the boat goes straight to the Statue of Liberty and u-turns, but it goes verrrry slow. Had they kept it moving, they could have taken us to the bridges or further along the nyc skyline but it felt like they intentionally went slow so they wouldn’t have to take us beyond the statue. Again, according to their website we were supposed to see more than the statue, but we didn’t. I 100% recommended taking the ferry for free. Exact same view and route.

We got there via the Sightseeing Pass, and while there were some scheduling issues at first, the team was really accommodating. Glad we were able to make it. Beautiful ship, fun crew, and the most amazing views you can get from the Estatue of Liberty and the City. Highly recommended!

Cette petite croisière a été un vrai plaisir !
Équipage sympathique, qui nous a fait profiter de très belles vues de NYC ainsi que de la statue de la Liberté. Le petit vent nous a fait du bien dans cette chaude journée d’été !

We lucked out with a beautiful, breezy day over July 4th weekend and had a great time sailing aboard the Shearwater. While temperatures in the city soared, we cooled off on this historic boat, getting an up-close view of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the lower Manhattan skyline and more. The crew was great, offering interesting facts, cold drinks and fun tunes! We appreciated the excellent communication from Manhattan by Sail prior to our trip. Once we arrived, the boarding process was quick and easy. Plenty of space on the boat to find the right spot for the sail. No bad seats! If you are looking to cool down and slow down in NYC, the Shearwater is it!!

Great boat - great crew - we had an awesome time on our last day. Great views on the statue of liberty and lower manhattan skyline. We also were lucky with best sailing weather. Thanks for an unforgettable experience.
