- 1Incontra e saluta la guida di Alan Tours sul molo e parti per l'Addo Elephant National Park gratuito della malaria, a soli 35 minuti di auto dalla città fino all'ingresso sud. Dopo il check-in e una pausa confortevole, iniziamo immediatamente l'esperienza di visione del gioco nel veicolo turistico. Il parco ospita 700 elefanti in roaming gratuiti e una grande varietà di animali selvatici come Zebra, Warthog, Struzzo, l'elegante Kudu e molti altri tra cui il tradizionale BIG 5, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Rhino, l'esclusivo scarabeo stercorario e ovviamente gli elefanti. Attraversando il parco da sud a nord, ci fermiamo per una pausa confortevole nel sito di picnic nel parco e allungando le gambe. Continuiamo quindi a viaggiare verso nord dove ci godiamo un pranzo leggero al ristorante del parco prima di dirigerci ancora a sud, osservando la partita lungo tutto il percorso in questa struttura di classe mondiale prima di tornare a Port Elizabeth e scendere alla banchina in tempo utile per salire a bordo della nave .

- Elisabettamangani0 contributiMolto più di un semplice “Transfer”Abbiamo contattato Alan Tours per avere un Transfer dall’aeroporto di Port Elizabeth fino al Gorah elephant Camp (andata e ritorno). I viaggi sono stati comodi e il driver, Andrew, simpatico e disponibile. Ci ha accompagnati dentro all’Addo non limitandosi a “guidare” ma ci ha fatto da guida. Si è fermato a spiegarci tutti gli animali permettendoci di vederli e ci ha raccontato la storia della città dandoci consigli utili per il viaggio. Organizzazione perfetta, disponibilità, professionalià e cortesia. Alan conosce molto bene il parco e nonostante il poco tempo a disposizione, abbiamo potuto vedere molti animali tra cui una fantastica mandria di bufali e meravigliosi elefanti. Conosce veramente bene il parco, dove sono situate le pozze, i posti dove si ha più occasione di vedere determinati animale. In più ha delle conoscenze su uccelli e animali non indifferenti. We booked this excursion online. Booking processing first class. We were welcomed at the ship by our tour guide Graham and were with 5 couples from our ship AIDA Prima on this tour. It all fit from the start. Graham is a (lovingly intended) slit ear who knows where the animals are hiding and also has an outstanding network among the guides. We saw the Big 4 living in the park. Unfortunately, no giraffes live there. But the "quota giraffe" suddenly stood outside the entrance to the park in wild nature and it was a highlight. Graham also informed us perfectly during the tour. The group lunch together at the lodge was very pleasant. It was just a wonderful day with many beautiful and animal experiences. Once we arrived at the port we were taken directly to the gangway of the ship. Great service! We can only recommend Alan Tours and especially this tour, as they also depend on the mooring and docking times of the ships. Many thanks to Graham and Alan Tours for this special day!

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the tour. The tour is carried out in a large car and only on paved roads, which the shy animals naturally avoid. As a result, the chances of seeing the Big Five are zero. Of the five, only elephants and small animals were seen. Even buffalo, which are usually very common, were not seen once. Our driver was very good, was well informed and it was definitely not his fault. In my opinion and with experience of several safaris, this safari should only be done in an off-road vehicle and away from the paved roads. Anything else makes no sense. Apart from that, in my opinion (and from my own experience) there are much nicer national parks nearby. In my opinion, Addo Park is overrated anyway.

Zunaechst einmal danke ich Ihnen fuer Ihre Unterstuetzung und Ihre Buchung einer Tour zum Addo Elephant National Park mit Alan Tours. Vielen Dank.
Es ist in der Tat sehr bedauerlich, dass Sie mit Ihrer Erfahrung in diesem Park nicht zufrieden waren.
Der Park ist der zweitbeliebteste Nationalpark in Suedafrika, nach dem weltberuehmten Krugerpark selbst. Aber Addo ist nicht der Kruger Nationalpark und sollte daher nicht mit dem Kruger Park verglichen werden. Addo ist der drittgroesste Nationalpark Suedafrikas, nach dem Krueger- und dem Kgalagadi-Nationalpark. Addo ist die Heimat der "Big 5", hier gibt es fast 700 freilebende afrikanische Elefanten, Spitzmaulnashoerner, wenn man Glueck hat, dann gibt es Bueffel, die in grosser Zahl vorkommen und von einzelnen Bullen bis zu Herden von zwei- bis dreihundert Tieren zu sehen sind, auch Loewen, von denen es in dem Hauptgebiet, das wir an einem Tag abfahren, eine vom Park kontrollierte Population von momentan fuenf Individuen gibt, und von denen es in den anderen, uns an dem Tag nicht zugaenglichen Gebieten im Park noch viele weitere gibt, sowie Leoparden, die in dem Hauptgebiet nur sehr selten anzutreffen sind, waehrend sie in dem Gebiet im Norden haeufiger vorkommen.
Addo Elephant National Park ist bei auslaendischen und einheimischen Touristen aeusserst beliebt und enttaeuscht nie diejenigen, die nicht mit vorgefassten Meinungen und ueberzogenen Erwartungen anreisen und die geduldig genug sind, auf die besten Wildbeobachtungen zu warten.
Im Gegensatz zu dem, was Sie in Ihrer Rezension schreiben, sind die Tiere im Addo Elephant National Park NICHT so scheu, wie Sie es ausdruecken, sie sind sogar entspannter als in jedem anderen Park, der mir bekannt ist, und ich bin seit über 45 Jahren im Tourismus taetig. Wenn Sie sich die aktuellen Bewertungen auf TripAdvisor ansehen, werden Sie feststellen, dass mindestens 95% unserer Gaeste mit ihrer Erfahrung im Addo Elephant National Park sehr zufrieden sind.
Wenn Sie in Ihrer Bewertung von einem groeßeren Auto sprechen, meinen Sie damit einen komfortablen Ford Tourneo mit 7 Sitzen, der kleiner ist als unser offenes Safarifahrzeug mit 10 Sitzen oder unsere Toyota Land Cruiser, die 8 Passagiere plus einen Fahrer aufnehmen koennen. Der Ford ist nicht das ideale Fahrzeug, um Wildtiere zu beobachten, da er neben dem Fenster auf dem Vordersitz nur zwei kleinere Fenster im Fahrgastbereich hat, die sich oeffnen lassen. Da Sie in dem oben genannten Fahrzeug in einer Gruppe von 4 Personen waren (Sie und Ihre Gattin und einer Mutter mit einem 13-jährigen Teenager), hatten Sie in dem Fahrzeug mit 7 Sitzplaetzen reichlich Platz, um sich zu bewegen.
Leider sind die 4 x 4-Fahrzeuge, die wir betreiben, schon frueh in der Saison ausgebucht, denn wer zuerst kommt, mahlt zuerst. Wir sind immer sehr offen gegenueber potenziellen Kunden und bei Buchungen, wie Ihre, ueber TripAdvisor/Viator werden keine speziellen Fahrzeuge zugesagt. Wir ordnen unsere 4x4 Fahrzeuge den Gaesten zum Zeitpunkt der Buchung zu und wenn benoetogt, bringen wir weitere Fahrzeuge ein, um den Zustrom von Gaesten zu bewaeltigen, wenn die Kreuzfahrtschiffe ankommen, wofuer wir sehr dankbar sind. Leider sind wir nicht in der Lage, das ganze Jahr ueber eine groessere Anzahl von 4x4 Safarifahrzeugen einzusetzen, da wir ausserhalb der Kreuzfahrtschiffsaison nicht die hohen Kundenzahlen haben.
Ihr Vorschlag, dass nur 4x4-Fahrzeuge eingesetzt werden sollten, damit wir auf den unbefestigten Strassen fahren können, entbehrt jeglicher Grundlage für das Geschriebene.
Der Addo Park hat, wie alle 19 suedafrikanischen Nationalparks, ein System von Parks entwickelt, das sowohl den Einwohnern Suedafrikas als auch unseren auslaendischen Touristen zur Verfuegung steht. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen afrikanischen Laendern haben die SANParks, (steht fuer South African National Parks) ein Strassennetz entwickelt und unterhalten, das alle Arten von Fahrzeugen aufnehmen kann, naemlich kleine Autos bis zu grossen Bussen. Da es in Suedafrika ein grosses Wohlstandsgefaelle gibt und die Parks so vielen Menschen wie moeglich zuaenglich gemacht werden sollen, ist man in den Parks, wie z.B. dem Addo Elephant National Park, in der Lage, selbst mit kleinsten Autos zu fahren,
Es stimmt nicht, dass auf unbefestigten Strassen mehr Tiere anzutreffen als auf der geteerten. Es ist eine reine Vermutung, ein Hirngespinst und keine Fakt. Die Tiere bewegen sich ueberall total frei.
Es stimmt auch nicht, dass Sie lediglich auf geteerten Wegen im Park unterwegs waren. Auf dem Weg vom suedlichen Eingang bis zum main camp MUSS man auf Geroell- und Schotterpisten fahren.
Die Strecke von Sueden nach Norden ist nur auf kleineren Abschnitten (steilen Anstiegen und Gefaellen) geteert. Sie waren also definitiv auf unbefestigten Pisten unterwegs.
Ihr Guide, wie alle uebrigen Guides mit unseren Gaesten von der Sol, hat im suedlichen Eingang des Parks eingecheckt. Um das Restaurant im main camp zu erreichen, wo Sie Mittagessen eingenommen haben, MUSS man auch auf Schotter- oder Geroellpisten fahren, egal welchem Weg man waehlt.
Abgesehen von dieser Tatsache ist der Ford Tourneo durchaus in der Lage, jeden Weg zu befahren, ob unbefestigt oder geteert, in dem Teil von Addo, den wir auf unseren Tagestouren nutzen. Es sind jedoch grundsaetzlich KEINE off road Fahrten erlaubt. Dies ist in den Vorschriften des Parks strikt verboten!
Zu Ihrer Aussage, dass es bessere National Parks in der Naehe gibt, haben Sie wohl National Parks mit privaten Parks verwechselt. Der Addo Elephant National Park ist der von Port Elizabeth am nahe liegendste, in ca. 40 Autominuten vom Hafen bis zum Suedeingang zu errecihen. Der naechstgelegene Nationalpark zu Port Elizabeth ist entweder der Tsitsikamma Nationalpark, ein herrlicher Kuestenpark etwa 2,5 Autostunden von Port Elizabeth in westlicher Richtung entfernt oder der atemberaubende Mountain Zebra Nationalpark, etwa 3 Autostunden im Landesinneren.
Alles andere in der Umgebung von Port Elizabeth sind PRIVATE Wildreservate, die Sie wohl mit den Nationalparks verwechseln. Aber diese Reservate sind in Privatbesitz, kosten viel mehr und sind weiter von der Hafenstadt Port Elizabeth entfernt als der Addo Nationalpark.
Ich war am selben Tag wie Sie im Addo Park mit Gaesten von der AIDA Sol und hatte einen absolut spannend aufregenden Tag.
Ich glaube, dass Sie zu der kleinsten Minderheit gehören, die den schoenen Addo Elephant Nationalpark nicht geniessen. Auf den Bildern den Tages, die uns der Guide von Ihnen zeigte, sehen Sie und Ihre Reisebegleitung keineswegs ungluecklich aus und Sie haben auch in keiner Art und Weise ihr Misfallen oder Unzufriedenheit waehrend des Tages dem Guide gegenueber zum Ausdruck gebracht.
Vielleicht sollten Sie an einem besseren Tag wiederkommen.

The company are really professional, the vehicles comfortable, we choose an open van and they even offered us blankets. Anthony our guide was amazing, so knowedgable being a Zoologist, we saw so many diverse animals, I cant recommend this company and Anthony more highly and value for money. Excellent.

Thank you so much for such a positive review. Myself and the rest of the Alan tours team really appreciate it.
It was a lovely clear day in the park which really added to the open safari vehicle experience. We were greeted by many animals on arrival including the beautiful zebra and warthog. As the tour continued through the day the sightings only got better. Buffalo and elephant walking right up close to the open vehicle is an amazing experience in itself. We were also lucky enough to follow a small elephant family along the road for a little while before they veered off back into the bush. It felt like we were part of the herd. Once we arrived at the different waterholes the number of elephants increased substantially. Most were looking to quench their thirst to keep cool while one decided that a leisurely swim was the best way to cool off.
That nip in the morning and evening air to and from the park was nicely held off by the blankets offered.
Thank you both for such good company and a great day in the park.

We picked this tour for 12/23/23 because we wanted a full-day trip to Addo Elephant Park that respected our cruise ship's timing at Port Elizabeth. The title of the tour said it all. If anything went wrong with the ship being delayed or leaving early--Alan Tours would accommodate. All of our pre-trip planning online was helpful, courteous, prompt and accurate.
Somehow, I never got the guide's name but we had an excellent post-grad geologist with in-depth knowledge of the animals, their behavior, birds, weather, geography, area history, and much more. He had the natural gift of a teacher and with a clear, articulate voice that was considerate of the interests of our varied group of 7. We saw many, many elephants as well as heartebeasts, impala, wildebeasts, warthogs, zebras, giraffes and more elephants. The guide spent as long as we wanted parked with the engine off so we could take in the animals in their natural environments. We learned an enormous amount and had some good laughs. Lunch was at the Cattle Baron restaurant in the park and it was very tasty. He arranged for me to get a take out coffee for the afternoon drive even though I was the only one who asked for one!
We highly recommend Alan Tours and were thrilled with our tremendous guide. After travelling for close to 4 weeks in S Africa, believe me, it's all in the guide.

Anthony was an incredible host. He is well educated about animals beyond general knowledge which is very impressive!
He took his time explaining everything to us which I appreciated.
We were spoilt with all we saw that day. Galvin and I were very happy with everything!

Really good day with a fantastic guide who was informative on all aspects including bird life, flowers and fauna as well as the elephants and general wildlife. Although our cruise ship was late arriving in Port Elizabeth Alan was happy to reschedule the day and ensure that we did not miss out on the wonderful Addo experience. We would thoroughly recommend this trip .

Wir waren im November 2022 mit der AIDA Aura zwei Tage in Port Elisabeth.
Am ersten Tag waren wir im Addo Elefant Park mit Boris und am zweiten Tag bei den Pinguinen und an der Küste mit Alan und Boris, beides inkl. Mittagessen.
Beide Ausflüge mit Boris und Alan waren sehr gut organisiert. Sie wissen sehr viel. Fahren gut Auto und kennen sich aus. Waren morgens pünktlich und haben uns pünktlich wieder zum Schiff gebracht.

Am ersten Tag waren wir im Addo Elefant Park mit Boris und am zweiten Tag bei den Pinguinen und an der Küste mit Alan und Boris, beides inkl. Mittagessen.
Beide Ausflüge mit Boris und Alan waren sehr gut organisiert. Sie wissen sehr viel. Fahren gut Auto und kennen sich aus. Waren morgens pünktlich und haben uns pünktlich wieder zum Schiff gebracht.

With our children arranged a tour to Addo Elephant park. The ranger Boris came to the cruise vessel where we met a few others from the ship. Our smooth way to the south entrance, which was better than the north entrance because, despite some rain, we have seen lot of elephants, lions, jackals, hyena and deers. Very enthousiasm Boris and excellent information about the park and animals. The lunch was included and atmosphere very good. Thks a lot. The company informed us weeks before arrival of the cruise ship, name of the driver, the exact time and they should advice themselves about vessel’s arrival time. Which is reliable and important for us.
