I took a package of 3 tours with LapAz on Foot- Urban Trek, Tiwananku and Titicaca and the gorgeous canyons of Las Animas and Palca. Milenka coordinated all of this well and provided me a detailed package of information. Grace was my guide for 3 whole days and she was absolutely wonderful, very knowledgeable, super freindly!. The neighborhoods of LaPaz are so original and full of character and Bolivian authenticity. This was the case also with the tiwanaku tour, the cute village and Huatajata totora reed boats, all added to the original experience!. The hike through Palca was awesome- what a place!. Overall, So happy to recommend this company to anyone looking for some offbeat experience!

La Paz on Foot provided us with the most amazing, seamless trip. We departed from La Paz to Copacabana. Due to unforeseen local political problems, we could not reach Copacabana via land. Our guide Ximena immediately contacted her people and in quick fashion, a new plan was brought up. It was the most delightful adventure, given that we didn't have to sweat the details. Ximena and our driver never lost their cool and if they were in a panic we never saw it. We arrived at Isla del Sol and were set up in the most beautiful, welcoming ecolodge I've stayed in. Food and attention were fantastic. Next day we visited Isla de la Luna and continued via boat to Copacabana. The switch in our itinerary was an awesome experience, and to the company's credit, we will be talking about this little detail forever as one of our most memorable adventures. I loved looking at my kids' faces and their amazement of Bolivia's natural beauty. After a night in Copacabana, we traveled to the border with Peru. Ximena helped us with all the details and shortly after once she had us in the van with a new driver on the Peruvian side, she said goodbye. La Paz on Foot arranged our tour of Puno and the Floating Islands with a new guide. In the evening our driver dropped us off at the airport in Juliaca for our connecting flight in Lima back to the USA
All we talk about is going back to Bolivia and visiting the Salt Flats and so many other places that are unique and beautiful. For our next visit, we most definitely contact La Paz on foot!!

La Paz on Foot provided excellent, professional, private tours for both Chacaltaya and the Uyuni salt flats (1 day). They were very flexible to accommodate a late change in schedule due to weather as well! Highly recommend!

We did Palca Canyon hike with La Paz on Foot, that provide transportation for our group (large van with a very good driver), box lunches, and, of course, a guide. The person who handled organizing things for us, Milenka, was very helpful and responsive over email and whatsapp, it was easy to work with her. She suggested a hike that was of the appropriate level for our group and made sure things gone smooth.The Palca Canyon hike is fun and the scenery is very picturesque. The guide we got was a true enthusiast and tried to share as much information about surrounding nature with us as possible. It was unfortunate, however, that his English was somewhat weak.One suggestion we have. The Palca canyon is at most an easy half a day hike. It is quite appropriate for the hikers of all levels as long as folks at least somewhat fit. It should not, however, be advertised as a full day moderate hike. The hike is mostly downhill/ flat, the terrain is easy, and it is rather short. It is 1.5 hr/ 2 hrs long hike at most.

We were a group visiting an NGO in La Paz with a day off at the end - wanting to get a view of this interesting city for a morning. La Paz on Foot was recommended; 2 guides arrived with a good plan - and asked us what we wanted. Adjustments made, off we went. To the Teleferique; up to El Alto; to a museum of their favourite artist - for 1 hour - with a poor explanation of it's connection to both South American and European history, and we were standing throughout. But afterwards we got a sit down and something nice to eat - they had bought these pasties for us. Then a walk downhill for another hour - steep and hard for some; then a bus ride; off and through the shopping district; to a coffee house and then a walk to our lunch end stop. We omitted nearly all that we'd requested. And the pasties turned bad on us that night as all but one of the team fell ill with gastro-enteritis!

Greetings from La Paz. Thank you for taking a moment to share your feedback on the recent Urban Trek that you participated in with La Paz on Foot. While I understand your disappointment with not having been able to visit the more typical attractions of our city, it seems that the host organization that asked us to organize the outing did not provide your group with an adequate description of the itinerary of the trek prior to departure. Well before the day of the trek, we gave your host organization a complete itinerary that clearly describes what the experience is like and that it does not include visits to churches, plazas and the like.
We so sorry about that confusion and next time will double check that tour participants have been fully informed about the conditions of the trek and the points of interest to be visited. I hope that you will visit us again and if so, please do not hesitate to contact us as I am confident that, given more information about your interest, will be able to organize an experience to your liking.
I hope that you will consider removing your feedback from TripAdvisor, as you can see we have an excellent track record for high quality, responsible travel and can guarantee you that the errors you describe are the result of poor communication as opposed to negligence.

Whilst planning a recent visit to Bolivia we asked La Paz on Foot to help us organise some activities for the final week of our trip as we didn't have much time available, but wanted to squeeze in several things in different areas, the 3 day Pacha Trek (an amazing and very different immersive experience - recommended) which allowed us to meet with and stay in the villages of the Kallawaya people on the edge of the Cordillera Apolobamba near Charazani, a home stay in a Titicaca lakeside community, and another 3 day trek in the Tuni/Condoriri region of the Cordillera Real. Within only a couple of hours of an initial email enquiry (and on a Sunday too!) we had received a detailed reply from Stephen with a broad outline of some options for us to consider.
Milenka in the office was first class and helped us sort out the detail of the plan, working through several options before we made a final decision as to how best to spend our time. Communication was easy and quick, and she was happy to research and answer our endless queries. She also went out of her way to help us with a minor issue we had whilst we were in La Paz before the trip.
Thanks to La Paz on Foot we managed to pack a lot into our last few days in Bolivia. All the arrangements Milenka made for us worked seamlessly. The experiences they organized for us were amazing, and everything was perfectly coordinated.
We were particularly impressed by their commitment to responsible, sustainable tourism practice and community involvement. This was particularly apparent not only on the Pacha Trek, but also when we visited Tuni, the trail head for the Condoriri Trek. Our party didn't just arrive, camp, load up some donkeys and march out, as so often happens on remote mountain treks. Instead we had the opportunity to enjoy the hospitality of the community. The whole village was ready to turn out for a party for us with music and dancing on the evening we arrived, and the following morning as our kit was being sorted and loaded up, we were shown round the village with a chance to learn about and participate in the day to day routines such as harvesting and drying crops, herding and shearing llamas, spinning wool and weaving. As we come from a very small, remote community in highland Scotland ourselves it was very interesting to compare notes with the locals.
Jaime, the guide that La Paz on Foot organised to accompany us on this trek was great. Very experienced, very professional and safety conscious, but also great fun to be with. He and his family were all from Tuni so we got the insider view. Jaime's son Denis was our cook and did a great job too, even producing a Pizza on a single ring camp stove one night, which is (I think) a first for me even though I've been trekking and climbing all over the world for over 40 years now!
All in all, La Paz On Foot put together something for us that far exceeded our expectations, a truly memorable experience that really made the most of our limited available time. I work in adventure tourism myself so was very aware of the attention to detail put into what they did for us. They even came to see us after our trip, just to make sure everything had gone well and to hear how we had got on!

We joined the three days tour from Uyuni to San Pedro de Atacama in early June. The guide (the driver), the hostel and food were good. Although we do not know any Spanish and rely on another lady in the group to translate for us, the driver has been extremely friendly to the two of us. I guess communication barrier does not really matter when you are with great people and in a lovely environment. Yet, there were few things we see a room for improvement. There should be clearer explanation about the places we are going to travel to, e.g. the Brazilian girls said they were told to prepare more clothes and medicines for altitude sickness for the visit to the hot spring on the last day. We did not know a thing about the temperature and altitude at the place in advance that made us worried for quite a while. And the second thing is about the entrance fee to the parks. It was said in the email from you that the entrance fees are included and we did not prepare much cash as it was out last stay in Bolivia. However, we were told to pay by ourselves when we arrived at the two parks on day one and day two. We were shocked and asked our Brazilian friend to borrow some money to us. Luckily, because of the helpful Brazilian lady's talk to the driver, we got back the money for the park on day two. He said it was uncommon for him to pay the fee, so he forgot about it. We were so glad that things worked out in the end. But the entrance fee for day one was still a mystery. The driver said he was only given the amount for thr lagoon park but not the first one. It was not a big amount, still I hope you can let us know the situation and provide better services to the future tours. Last but not least, the driver was really good and please help us to say thank you to our 'amigo'. We were sad not to have chance to say goodbye properly with the driver and the Brazilian girls. We hope they are doing well and all the best. Thank you for the unforgettable experience. We would definitely want to come back if possible.

Thank you very much for your words Tiffany. We are so glad you enjoyed your trip with us despite of the entrance fee issue. We want to apologize for this inconvenience, generally we do not have this situation. It is true, on shared services the drivers do not usually pay for the entrance, anyway we sent the information to our coworker in Uyuni about the entrance fee and they forgot give the complete information to the driver. Once again we sorry about this and if some day you return to Bolivia or have a friend who is coming soon we will be happy to give you a discount on your next trip.

We wanted to go to one of the peaks over 5000 meters and we were recommended to trek Pico Austria. And it was really good choice! We had perfect guide and driver. We hiked a few ours in the gorgeous landscape. There were not so many people and it was Sunday.
We were not lucky to have good weather all the trip and the thunderstorm with snowing surprised us almost at the top. In spite of that it was worth going there! I can recommend you the agency and the trip :-) Photos are incredible!
The only thing they could change: they don't take any trekking sticks for customers. When it's slippy it's much better to have them with you. Ask them before the hike about them! :-)

We had a lovely day with our guide, Ximena. From El Alto to the Witch’s Market she presented the nooks and crannies of La Paz. We never would have stumbled on some of these destinations on our own. Ximena obviously loves her hometown and it shows. From local cuisine to Andean architecture, from a place to buy a bowler hat and parade outfit to a statue of a stray dog, we saw it all. If you are interested in the explanations for the sights around you join La Paz on Foot!

La Paz on Foot provided great service. I is used them to plan my one day to trip to the Salt Flats which included airfare, a guided tour of the Salt Flats for 8 hours, and lunch.
