My wife and I had an amazing time doing the summit tour.. didn’t have to wake up too early and had a full day of fun. our drive Nic was awesome.. full of great stories and history .. the view and scenery was great but Nic was icing on the cake and made the adventure even better
We have been to Maui several time and this was our 1st time doing this and will definitely do it again
Bikes and equipment was great and staff was very accommodating

This activity exceeded all my expectations. It was tremendous. First you go up to the summit and view the crater, which is spectacular, not to mention the incredible views along the way. Then you ride down, as fast as you’d like (or not), not once, but twice, the top 8 miles or so. The part with the least traffic. Then after a pick up on the van, you resume the ride further down, and stop in little town of makawao for lunch if you’d like. Then finish the ride. The tour guide, Kimo, is the best! Super nice guy, funny as hell, as just as Knowledgeable about almost everything, like the trees, flowers, fruits, animals, history of Hawaii, you name it. Born and raised on the islands. Definite highlight of our time on Maui (and I live on Oahu). Highly recommend.

Fantastic day with Bike Maui. Kimo, our guide, was full of useful information and is a gem of a person. I'd recommend Bike Maui (particularly with Kimo) to anyone visiting the island. Thanks for a great experience!

This was a great experience. The bicycles were first rate. Included was a rain jacket in case of foul weather. The staff took us in a 10 person van to the top of Haleakala, with the driver, filling us in on the Flora, fauna, and history of Maui. We spent some time taking in the view of the island from the top of the crater, and looking into the caldera . Truly amazing. We were up above the clouds. We then took two runs midway down the mountain from the top, through the clouds. Because of local ordinances, we had to go back in the van, and get driven to the lower 1/3 of the mountain, then completing the bike trip down. We spent lunch at a small café in a town 2/3 the way down the mountain. Had a great coffee at Espresso Mafia. Not to be missed. The trip was a full day from 8-3. One of the best experiences we had on the islands.

Combo bike and zip line package. Kimo was our driver/guide up the mountain and he was fantastic. Informative and funny.

The most fun thing we did on Maui. Dan, our guide to the summit, was a wealth of info and had a great sense of humor. So many interesting facts from geology to plant/animal life to myths and legends, he covered it all. I feel like I got a year of education in a couple hours.
Everyone that assisted with bike/helmet selection was meticulous. Equipment was in great shape (especially the brakes!!) Safety and the route was stressed over and over so we were confident we would have a safe ride and not get lost.
A fabulous experience and one I would love to repeat next time we travel to Maui.

Highly recommend. We did the 8am self paced tour. We started with an informative ride to the park. Lots of dad jokes. Spent little time in the park and our tour guide Daniel took a cool picture which made it look like we were skydiving. Outside the park we jumped on our bikes and started downhill. We were encouraged to take our time, enjoy the views and take lots of pictures. Several places to stop for food and you're given plenty of time. The entire staff was great. The bikes were well maintained and you are provided rain jackets, helmets and backpacks. Highly recommend.

As an avid biker, this experience was a must. My wife and two teenage boys did this together. We were not interested in the guided package, as we didn't want to get held up by novice riders.
Kimo, as often referred to in reviews, is a treasure and his history of area and knowledge of plants, trees and fruits is unmatched. The "winning" references were likely a few too many, but fine.
The full face masks were of good quality, but as someone who rides often, this is a very easy ride. Would strongly recommend this tour on the quality of the bikes alone. What I saw others riding, by other tours, were likely not safe. One looked like a 80s BMX bike ... all steel.
My only tip is have a plan to stop a few times for photos and views. My boys were off and we were down in 65 minutes. My max speed was 33 MPH, but average was 18. It is really not that steep. We had to climb a total of 177 feet in 21 plus miles. Suggest stopping half way for lunch, but my boys blew past that spot, so we didnt.

Amazing experience! A must-do while in Maui!!!
We enjoyed the tour (learning about Maui), visiting the volcano above the clouds, and most definitely the bike ride. We had an awesome time with our guide Dan. It made the entire experience so positive - hearing about the history and mythology of Maui. His tour gave us all an appreciation of the rich history and culture of the islands. The bike ride itself was incredible. This day was our favorite part of our entire trip. You'll remember this forever!

Great experience.
We were enticed at riding a push bike down a volcano but loved the tour and crater experience just as much.

I did the 8 am. Couldn’t convince my partner to wake up early but most people go early to see the sunrise.
