The snorkeling was perfect off the tiny island of Silk Caye. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a small group so lots of personal attention.

The island is truly a tropical paradise, and it’s great to know that our guide made your trip even more enjoyable. Our guides do their best to turn our guests into ambassadors for Belize and for Splash. We work with a low ratio of max 4 snorkelers per snorkel guide so even larger groups feel like small groups. This crew is amazing! We had 3 snorkelers and 6 divers on our boat. Our guide, Bryan, was so great. He pointed out all the beautiful underwater creatures. We saw sharks, lobsters, huge sting rays and a giant turtle who swam with us for quite a while! 10 out of 10 would do this again. Worth every penny!

Our first snorkeling experience couldn’t have been better! We explored crystal-clear waters and saw incredible marine life, from colorful coral formations to schools of tropical fish. Our guides were fantastic—they made sure we felt confident and safe while snorkeling. They even showed us a local barracuda that fed on scraps, which was both fascinating and a great lesson in marine conservation. We also saw a nurse shark and several stingrays. This was an unforgettable adventure that I’ll cherish forever.

So much fun! Saw turtles, sting rays and nurse sharks as well as many tropical fish and corals. Tatiana was a very helpful and knowledgeable snorkel guide.

first time snorkeling and taking a boat out into the sea. the water is pristine, and you can see the color changes of different shades of dark blue/turquoise as you approach the islands. it is truly a tropical paradise to be on your own little island in the Caribbean while watching as pelicans, seagulls, and marine life surround you and remind you of how beautiful and fragile the ocean ecosystem is. the corals and creatures you see below are colorful and beyond breathtaking to see. the lunch was delicious, and we were told to throw our bones and scraps into the water so that a local barracuda could come eat the leftovers, showing how nothing goes to waste in the ecosystem. we topped off the snorkeling experience with a chance to witness a nurse shark, sea turtle, and several sting ray swimming just feet below us. truly a remarkable sight to witness and a great memory for everyone. our guides and crew were fabulous and got us out to the islands and back to shore safely while ensuring everyone was comfortable with their skills and using the equipment before snorkeling.

Great day out on the water. Ride to Silk Caye is over an hour so pack your sunscreen. Lovely ride through numerous cayes until you reach tiny silk caye. For those snorkeling, you go around the entire caye once and will see all sorts of corals and fish. When you come out, some pelicans are there to greet you and lunch is served. After lunch and when some time is passed, yoy swim out to another snorkeling area and see some more corals and fish. Then to i e final snorkel area for the last swim.. we saw a beautiful turtle out there.
Splash are a nice bunch of people and the guys were great all day. Food was good too.

We‘ve just spent 4 days doing activities we organized thru Splash Dive Center & they were all excellent! Not only did we do the snorkel experience on the reef w lunch on Silk Caye-which was just great and run beautifully for all our varying levels of swimmers- but we also went in search of Whale Sharks, saw huge bull sharks and turtles, nurse sharks etc and had an all ‚round stupendous time w Captain Randy, Dive instructor Omado and Dive Master /guide, Melvin. 👍 We felt we were in very good, knowledgeable, affable hands thruout the whole day!
ALSO thru Splash, we did a very very cool nighttime river and Bioluminesence tour at Sittee Creek, -again excellent. They also organized our outings to Lubantuum and Nim Li Punit archaeollgical sites, where we lunched deliciously under their direction at typical Mayan roadside restaurants enroute. They provided topnotch, clean, ac cool van transport to all these activities, as well as picked us up (two separate parties!) at the airport and transported us to hotel. They capably got us TO all of the of the above activities. (If you’ve ever tried to orchestrate transport and activities for a family of 6, you know it ain’t easy… tho Splash made it LOOK easy!:))
The guide who was assigned to our motley crewe of 6 for all 4 days was Melvin-just great, very nice, informative , and accommodating, He really took us under his „wing“ as it were and saw that we had a super time. Hat tip, Melvin! Our guide at Lubantuum thru Splash was Lauro, also excellent. When our itinerary was threatened by a wildfire, Melvin and Lauro conferred, took all in stride and made alternative plans and routes for us. The Bioluminescence tour thru Splash was also just fabulous.
Last but not least, the administrazive team at Splash really did a great job-its not easy orchestrating events for 6 opinionated people😃The Team at Splash was excellent and professional thruout. Big thanks to Miss Patti the owner, to Pamela and Torrie. All excellent. Thank you and ALL the team for making our Placencia stay so enjoyable and memorable!

This snorkeling experience completely exceeded our expectations. We just snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef a few months back and this was 10 times better. Our guide, Ben, was fantastic, and he pointed out tons of different types of coral and fish. We loved the lunch that was served and that we got to spend some time at the island beach. The best part was swimming so close to reef sharks, sting rays and sea turtles! Out of the many excursions we've done around the world, this one is at the very top of our list. 10/10 recommend.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Splash and especially for your comparison of Silk Cayes to the Australian Great Barrier Reef! It has been a few years since I snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef but I fully agree with your assessment. Close encounters with rays, sharks and turtles is a highlight of the Silk Cayes Marine Reserve and our crews love showing our guests the wonders of our underwater world. Do you still require vaccines? And what if you don’t want to snorkel the whole time? Can a 5 YO kid snorkel or hang on the island?

Proof of vaccination was required to enter Belize. If you don't want to snorkel the whole time, I would pick a different activity. The 'island' is very small and there is nothing on it apart from a bathroom and some picnic tables.
