Our small group tour was as amazing as our driver Walter. We left early and got back late and covered so many picturesque locations along The Great Ocean Road.
Walter communicated each stop highlights and time allocation clearly and it was just the right amount of time to see and enjoy and photograph each place and then head to the next.
Walter told us he liked to get going early to beat the crowd and true to his word our captured photos were pristine shots of natural environments before most folks arrived.
Beach walks, caves, rain forest walk, a stop at a little shopping village and a view of Bells Beach surfers were all part of our experience as well as the option of a helicopter trip over London Bridge and the Apostles. We took up the offer and saw a whale and calf as a bonus. We would completely recommend Walter and Around and About Tours and look forward to a future trip with them on our next visit to Melbourne. The trip covered all the main highlights of The Great Ocean Road with plenty of time to look around and even enjoy a helicopter ride.

It was more than what we expected, we went to all the stops they offer, the guide was very kind and he was explained us everything about the road. The timetable was like the expected.

Took a tour on 24 Oct and it was a day well spent on Great Ocean Road. Very helpful, informative and enthusiastic driver and tour guide who made every moment enjoyable.

This was unbelievable. The views along the Great Ocean Road are breathtaking. Walter was lovely and went out of his way to make our day more than we could have ever imagined. We saw parrots, koalas and TONS of kangaroo. I could not have asked for more. Highly recommended.

I normally don't do group tours (I shudder when those groups of 50 following the aloft umbrella stream past) and this one-day tour was EXACTLY the opposite of that. I was very pleased!!!
The tour is in a van that seats 11, small and tidily whizzing across country roads. It's very comfortable and you're able to leave you bag behind so you can climb those hills unencumbered!
The route follows the reverse of most tour companies, zipping across inland roads and getting to the big coastal sights quite early. It leaves at an unholy pre dawn hour (before 6am!) but the trade off is NO CROWDS at the the most touristy sites. Amazing! Fully worth it!
Besides the Twelve Apostles and other coastal lookouts, there is also a lovely rainforest hike (moderate), and then a couple detours to seek out koalas and kangaroos near the main road. We found both! It was a fantastic and exciting experience.
Our guide, Walt, was friendly, knowledgable, and very good natured. He's got great trivia and answered every question we threw his way. What I liked best is how mellow it was. In a small van in close quarters, operating pretty early, we zoned for most of the driving time. Walt always gave very clear expectations for each locations which was very useful. Overall, each stop was planned and executed in a well thought out way. The group I was in turned out great. I was a solo traveler and always felt safe and well looked after.
I would definitely come back and do this again with my mom and dad!

Had a great time with my dad on this tour! Driver was very nice and informative. The tour did not disappoint as we were able to see and do what we wanted to do and so much more! The head start was a good idea because we were able to avoid most of the tourist crowd. Definitely worth it and will recommend to friends and family!

Walter is an excellent guide. Professional and knowledgable. Had a terrific day viewing sights along the ocean road and seeing koalas, kangaroos and parrots. Great idea to leave early to stay ahead of crowds. Our best tour in Australia!

How does this Great Ocean Trip compare to the other one day trips with a similar name?

This tour leaves earlier in the day and stays ahead of the big tour buses and traffic. We went in a quieter time of year (oct), but there were still crowds. We weren’t happy when the morning alarm rang, but were grateful later in the day. Also, the smaller vehicle allows for stops where buses can’t go, such as koala sighting and bird feeding.
