Fantastic Cooking in Umbria!
Raffaella is a fantastic host, teacher and person. We stayed 4 nights and had two days of lessons on how to cook in the traditional Italian style.

We arrived very late due to flight issues, but Raffaella arranged for her daughter to greet us late at night and made sure we were comfortable. She taught us in her home and was so warm and welcoming.

Raffaella is knowledgeable, friendly and a great teacher. She has a comprehensive understanding of local ingredients and taught us recipes passed down from her grandmother. We ate what we prepared, and it was …. Mmm Delicious! I can’t wait to try them out at home.

Raffaella also had great recommendations for activities in the nearby towns (we went to Assisi and Perugia) and very accommodating of our requests.

Highly recommended!

Great Hands-on Cooking Lesson!

Absolutely the best experience! Everything was hands-on. Raffella took our food requests into consideration when planning the lesson. Her home was warm and welcoming. Raffella was patient and very organized. We loved the opportunity and so glad we choose this experience! Thank you Raffella!

Four of us attended “Let’s Cook in Umbria” for a 5 day cooking school. The owner/chef, Rafaella, welcomed us very, very late at night on the first day with open arms. We stayed in her warm, comfortable apartments located next to her home where the cooking classes take place. She and her family maintain a large garden, olive groves, and a vineyard on their farm. It’s a beautiful setting. Rafaella is charming, personable, has great sense of humor, and is a wonderful teacher.The classes take place in her home very near her kitchen in a living area that provides a cozy comfortable atmosphere. Rafaella uses her grandmother’s recipes, demonstrates necessary techniques, then encourages her students to do almost all of the preparation and cooking. Fantastic! She has to be a great chef because our meals accompanied by the family’s wines, were delicious. Let’s Cook in Umbria couldn’t have been better and therefore highly recommended.

Exploring Umbria while learning family cooking secrets

We are experienced travelers who have enjoyed exploring local cooking classes and cultures. Rafaella offered exactly what we were seeking and more in her 7 day vacation package. Each morning she shared family cooking secrets from appetizers to main course to desserts followed by local tours as described on her website. Her family farm and warm reception offered the perfect setting for creating new memories and friendships. With a group of 7 others, we each partiipated in food preparation and enjoyed our efforts while sharing stories over lunch accompanied by the farm's own wine. Thanks to Raffaella, we had an absolutely perfect time.

Wonderful cooking class-highlight of our Umbrian trip!

We attended a cooking class with Raffaella in October 2022. It was the highlight of our Umbrian vacation. The classes are in her home, a beautiful farm. She is a talented and kind teacher. The meal we made was absolutely delicious! The best meal in a trip of many delicious meals. I look forward to recreating it at home.

I highly recommend taking one of her classes. You won't be disappointed.

Great class!

My parents and I had so much fun learning how to make this delicious food! They had everything ready and set out for us so that we were able to make all four courses. I can't wait to try the recipes at home.

Wonderful Umbrian Cooking Class!!
Rafaela was a charming hostess and a wonderful teacher! My wife and I enjoyed a half-day cooking class with our friends in her Umbrian hillside home, making strangozzi pasta, pork tenderloin, appetizers, and desert all while enjoying this authentic “hands on” experience in the green heart of Italy! When we finished our last preparations, we enjoyed a beautiful lunch, Rafaela’s homemade wine, and watched the rain clouds part as we headed back down the hillside amidst the vineyards and olive groves. I recommend Rafaela to anyone looking for an Umbrian cooking (and eating) experience!

More than perfect
Excellent! I stayed at the farm’s accommodations for four nights.
Rafaela is not only an excellent cooking teacher but also a kind person who goes above and beyond to please the guests. The apartment where I stayed was fully equipped. Breakfast is provided. After our daily cooking class, she served us lunch ( the food we prepared) and she also planned daily activities for the rest of the day ( tours to Assisi, Perugia, to vineyards, chocolate making and ceramic classes)
She has a driver that drove us to all the activities at no additional cost.
The farm is very nice with a vineyard, olive trees, a big swimming pool and lots of beautiful areas to relax and enjoy the gorgeous views. Highly recommend!

חוויה נהדרת אצל רפאלה הנהדרת והמקצועית!!
אשתי ואני השתתפנו בשלושה סדנאות בישול אצל רפאלה. רפאלה אשה מקסימה ולבבית ומעבירה את השעורים במקצועיות יוצאת דופן. האווירה במהלך השעורים מאוד נעימה,ההסברים שלה מאוד ברורים והיא נותנת הרבה טיפים .במהלך שלשת הימים היא למדה אותנו להכין מגוון רב של מנות מהמטבח האומברי.אנחנו ממליצים בחום להשתתף בשעוריה!!! חוויה נהדרת!!!

fun and helpful class

Raffaella is a delight and super-skilled as a cook and a teacher. You really learn *about* the dishes and ingredients as well as how to cook them. The assistant/neighbor was great, too, bringing over her kid's toys when our 19-month-old lost interest in rolling pasta-dough.
