If you like chairs this museum is great, but if you like tables then frankly avoid.... After a visit, go to the white horse pub where sunday lunch is only a few pounds and the exotic dancers are even cheaper

Please note that this and the furniture factory closed January 2014.

However it now houses three artist's studios and one woodcraft. All are fascinating especially Poppi Harrison's vibrant flowers and special floral art. And a lovely welcoming person too as is Robert Bishop at Kraftinwood. Robert's love and lifetime knowledge of wood and his enthusiasm to tell us about this , totally compensated for our disappointment on finding the Lindford Factory & Museum closure.

I have been reading a number of books on the subject of trees and having been to Bradgate park whereby the trees had been cut at the crown by the groundsman in sorrow for the behaving of Queen of England Lady Jane Grey (queen for just 9 days) I had a deeper desire to learn more about the carving and treatment of wood in the process of chair making. I had seen in my walks to the New Forest how the trees had been harvesting to remove the wood needed for the building of lord Nelson's warships. I had also seen the wood carvings of the early settlers who moved onto the New Forest to build the railways. I had been to Bucklers Hard to see the process of building warships. This visit enabled me to see the beginning and end process in the detailed craftsmanship of designing and then building a chair to the final polish being applied. I saw bespoke chairs in the delicate process of construction, parts of a holy shrine being put together for a temple. The detailed carvings still dine by Hans along with the cutting and joining together of the pieces needed to build a chair. I was amazed to learn that some wood could be moulded into shape by using steam. The detailed restoration projects that were ongoing alongside commissions for spitfire chairs and wonderful detailed writing table. The tour lasted around one hour and I felt that I was given plenty of opportunity to ask questions whilst learning more about the intricate work that takes place in such a unique process. I wish I could afford such a wonderful commissioned chair. There were rocking horses on display on behalf of another company. The overall impression was a great 1 hour well spent. There was ample free parking at the entrance and the site is well signposted from major roads into HIgh Wycombe. I called in advance and asked if I could bring my dog koda as he has his own internet blog. I was warmly welcomed with my dog. Well behaved owners and their dogs are encouraged to visit. The cost is £6 and it was well spent. Thank you for such a wonderful tour. I will definitely recommend.

This was a fantastic little find - thank you Trip Advisor! For £6 you can have a talk and tour of the Windsor chair making factory, including a cup of tea or coffee.
Some of the limited addition chairs which are made here are completely inspirational. The love of a subject, combined with the skill of chair making brought about some magnificent pieces with such thought out details - definitely worth a visit.

Really enjoyed visiting this furniture maker and touring the workshops. There are only a few chairs in the museum which were very interesting but the really interesting items were the bespoke chairs and furniture being currently made in limited editions. Defnitely future museum pieces! Chairs commemorating Churchill, Brunel Shakespeare and even the Olympics were amazing. I would love to own one but out of my price bracket I'm afraid.
